The last chance to use all those shortlists and calculations you had made for the 2025 CQ Manager game.
This game uses, as its price list, the end of 2024 CQ rankings. (Make sure you change the date to 20241231 or 20250101) On the basis of that, you will need 12 (male) riders, to a maximum cost of 3000 points .
The budget and squad size were determined after a discussion initiated by @Hugo Koblet when he started the game in 2013: the races that comprise the game have frequently changed, but I finally settled on using UCI categories and the Omloop to Frankfurt dates in, I think, 2021.
Your opportunities to win points will be the 1.WT and 1.PT races from 1st March to 1st May inclusive, which are:
(the list of races is unchanged from last year)
CQ do not consider all WT events to be equal (and I doubt many of us do either), and so there are 4 different point scales:
In the WT races, all finishers get 5 points: in the PT events (scale 4), there are no points outside the top 30
12 is a small squad, and there are a number of race types to target; the different balances of specialities shown in the selections is always of interest in this, and there have sometimes been major changes in a team's fortunes post-Roubaix.
Winners:
2013 Rmeola
2014 Josedin
2015 Geraint Too Fast
2016 Vladimir
2017 Just Some Guy
2018 Madrazo
2019 Tobydawq
2020 Vladimir (led after the few races in the spring)/ Bminchow (after a redux in the autumn)
2021 Leadbelly
2022 Laarsland
2023 Evans is the Best
2024 Blues in the Bottle
2025 ????
There is a subsidiary competition, based on placings in each race, that I call the Green jersey.
Teams to me by PM before the Omloop starts (presumably mid-morning in Belgium on Saturday 1st March)
I believe that @Shakes may be putting up a selection tool, which should be very helpful, but I'd still prefer that teams come to me directly. I think Shakes also has plans for tracking the scores, which will probably be quicker than I can get results up, but I will do so, probably late in the evening of each race.
Good luck to all
