Difference between Storer and the rest of the top 10 GC riders is just stupid

The gap could have been smaller if Gall and Poole hadn't been caught when they could still see Storer in the distance. Storer is obviously the strongest here, but he, as well as Gee and Arensman, also gained time from them giving up behind.

Everyone was basically just going steady state from 3 climbs out until the lights go out, saving energy had little to do with it. Ciccone, Gall and Caruso barely made up time on Storer.

Sure, but after they caught Gall and Poole they stopped riding and the gap to Storer grew from 30 seconds to over a minute quite quickly. The gap to Gee is now a minute for both Ciccone and Gall, and that could definitely have been less if either or both of them had kept pulling from that point on.

Let's not forget the most important aspect of this race ...

Current 10th on GC and Mr Class himself

Alexander Jefferson Cepeda!

I guess there was a brutal pace on Passo di San't Antonio, destroying the bunch and dropping the likes of Seixas. A really small group after that one would explain the multiple attacks on Passo Monte Croce (Comelico).

Today I learned Erviti is a DS for INEOS.

How'd he end up there after a lifettime riding for Unzue??
Hell, Leonardo Basso, who was just signed because he was Moscon's training buddy, is now also a DS for them.

That guy was even worse than Antonio nibali on the 'hes sh*t but still somehow keeps getting wt contracts' spectrum
I mean, he was a decent leadout guy and not the worst rider for small fry sprinter one day races but yeah, seeing him at the team that was Sky/Ineos back in the day was weird.

As the great Sun Tzu said, you must know your enemy to win the war

I would not rely to much on GPS timing in this race. I think everyone in the chasing group was really on the limit today

Yeah, they don't seem to be too reliable here, but I think it was quite visible they were looking around and taking half ass pulls until Gall attacked again. That will of course have allowed them to recover a bit, but I'm still not sure it made them reach the finish sooner than what would otherwise have been possible.

If the gap to Gee in GC had been 30 seconds, it would definitely be within reach for Gall and Ciccone, but a full minute makes it tricky. Especially since Gee appears to be improving day by day.
