Swiss rider can't ride worse. She closed all the gaps to other teams that had teammates. She expended more energy than anyone else.

Some great Italian Catenaccio and an easy sprint win for Ostiz. Grossmann was the strongest, but wasted too much energy and couldn't gap the rest anyway.

Trying to apply normal tactics to these women's races are impossible

What a weird race lmao. Can't wait for the real one tomorrow
Looked like they were just on the limit. Only the winner could get out of the saddle for the sprint.

How did Schweitzer manage to finish 13th after Boothman took her out?

Pegolo hasn't raced in the nations Cup, apart from Trofeo Binda, and Silo hasn't followed up on the 6th place she got in Mende in the Tour de Gévaudan last year, so I wasn't really expecting that much from them.

You care so little you make these same posts every year.

The more you say you don't care, the more you show that you do.

Valv.Piti is just one of the more impulsive people on here. It's like when Peyroteo says someone will win or lose by 2 minutes.

It would be the same as those who complain in all the threads about boring races and cyclists but are always paying attention to them.

Great little analysis there. I don't, I randomnly tuned in with 20 km to go and decided to stay to get a look at the circuit since I didn't get to watch the circuit just yet after a busy week where I wasn't able to watch the men's u23 that I wanted to. Then I was quickly disappointed in riders chillin with 20 km left of a Worlds race and came here to discuss how laughable and far removed from a men's RR this is tactically this was which is obviously true.

But yeah go on!

But you do need to consider these are junior riders, most of these are either just left or still at school.
Just starting out on a journey we hope will lead to a successful racing career.

It was a boring race, but after the previous races it went as expected, so it was fine to have in the background with the knowledge that it'd be decided near the finish.

The women's U23 race was similar, the shallow field meant that no team could first drill it and then attack, so the bunch slowed down after the climbs and they then freewheeled and looked around.

I expect much more standard racing this afternoon where the Dutch ought to attack and open the race before the last lap.

Anyway, onto the next real race:
Apparently Le Court is, if not a favourite, then at least an outsider for the elite race. Guess that would solve the confusion regarding her jersey.

(Just to be clear; 'Le Court' is the name she's generally being referred to by, right? I'd hate having to use her full name...)

Yesterday we've watched some proper dumb tactics from the Belgian U23 men... in the end it didn't really matter because their leader didn't have the legs, but even if he did he would have had a hard time winning the race with those tactics. In elite men's racing we have Movistar, need I say more. But sure, focus on these girls, most of whom are still in school and don't make any money, and who get to race on a circuit that's actually not very suited to tactical racing.

I believe you have to always refer to her by her full name: Mary Patricia Kimberley Le Court de Billot Pienaar Margrethe Alexandrine Þórhildur Ingrid.

The elite race is starting in 30 minutes. This time it's 11 laps of the circuit for a total distance of just shy of 165 km. I wish they had included Mont Kigali en exchange for fewer laps, instead of making the same "mistake" as they did with Mount Fuji at the Tokyo Olympics, but I am not in charge which is probably a good thing.

Vollering is on paper bound to become World champion one of thes days, but if she doesn't manage it this time when Kopecky isn't around it won't necessarily be any easier in the future.

If the PFP from the Tour shows up she's the favourite. Otherwise my money is on Le Court. Reusser if the race is really hard and it's a case of woman against woman. The Dutch have a pretty good team on paper but all of them have to finish alone, and none of them have really been dominant in recent months.

She got merged with the former Danish Queen now?

Though, I suppose it could have been worse, she could have merged with the cousin of the former Danish Queen:
Mary Patricia Kimberley Le Court de Billot Pienaar Elisabeth Caroline-Mathilde Alexandrine Helena Olga Thyra Feodora Estrid Margrethe Désirée

I'm fairly ignorant of what form the riders are in today and how strong the different nations are, but isn't it straightforward for the Dutch to attack early with Van der Breggen and have Vollering suck wheel of the strongest opponents?
