Kind of funny visual at the front as Faulkner looks absolutely huge compared to Realini, but it's not like Faulkner is Kirsten Wild or anything, probably Emma Pooley would look like a giant next to Realini.

Edit: visual absolutely done with as Faulkner dispenses with the Italian and drops her like a stone. Have to wonder if she was sick on stage 3 or something because she obviously won the prologue/opening TT and she's been one of the best climbers in the race since, but on that day she lost an absolute ton.

Edit edit: lol, the graphics don't know how Spanish names work, and "Gruppo Cañellas" is not the most straightforward way to explain where Mavi is.

Faulkner suffered from dehydration on day 4. According to Amalie Dideriksen's bike computer, the average tempature was over 40 on that stage.

Faulkner was dehydrated.

Cavalli's got rid of Annemiek on the descent!

I mean, she needs a LOT for it to be decisive in any way shape or form, and it's open enough terrain for the moment that Annemiek can keep her in sight and bring her back, but obviously Annemiek crashed yesterday in the descent and probably doesn't want to be taking too many undue risks here.

OOF, Longo Borghini has 20" on Mavi very quickly. García was struggling a bit towards the top but she probably needs Elisa's wheel on the descent, Elisa is a great descender and Mavi... let's just say isn't.

Disastrous descent for García, as obviously now Elisa being with Annemiek and Marta up front is a threat, and she's now caught by Fisher-Black, Labous and the rest of that group, but she's also got Cille and Muzic and Brand in there who obviously aren't going to contribute with riders up the road. Magnaldi can help her but that's all that she has. The good news for her is that Elisa needs another minute and a half on top of what she already has to threaten Mavi's podium position.

Sorelle d'Italia, bah bah-ba-daa, bah bah-ba-daa!

Great strength late on by Cavalli, it won't be enough obviously but it's a good statement to drop ELB and AVV at this stage. Sadly for her ELB is still pacing because she's chasing the podium, rather than leaving it to Annemiek alone. The gap to García we simply don't know at this stage but I would not be surprised if ELB overhauls her now. Magnaldi will be heavily leant on to try to protect it. Fabulous win by Faulkner - what might have been had she not lost all that time on stage 3, obviously she wouldn't have had the freedom to do this but have to wonder what her GC capabilities could have been if she's in this kind of form late in the race. Mavi needs to get to the line before +4'35 I believe, Elisa was at +1'18 but took 4 bonus seconds.

Edit: looks like she has it fairly comfortably in the end.
