I don't know if it was spontaneous or tied to anything else, but it's not fun to ride with a nose full of blood!!!

I'd make a joke about altitude except that a) Emma is a stupendously good climber, and b) Emma's hometown is a whopping 17m above sea level.

SD Worx lost Uneken early, Majerus went home, Vas crashed, Kopecky tried her best, but isn't the fastest sprinter and Niamh (dear Danish ES commentators, it's the Irish spelling of Neve!) Fisher-Black proved that she can handle leadership, but needs better support. It obviously wasn't as big of a success for them as last year, but it wasn't that bad either.

Interviews with her can be the most energetic thing besides a Cille interview. Her friendship with the more calm Balsamo, her former teammate on the road and still teammate on the track is also funny, they are pretty different characters.
