Kittel was going too soon. It's going to be a great Tour, now that Kittel can't do the same sucking he and his pathetic team always did.

Too soon, how far was it 200 meters?
It seemed 300 meters and that is too soon. Having said that, I still remember when he was at giant, and not once did giant help chasing breaks. They only did their lead-out with 2ks to go, nothing more. He was able to abuse that way too many times.

Now he can't. But Cav will be able to do just that, and do what Viviani did today.

When Tony Martin pulled off I thought it was clear that there weren't enough Etixx men left to get him to 200m. I think the last man did a good job actually.

They certainly didn't put everyone on the front, but usually they always had a rider controlling the break.
It were smart tactics, certainly because other teams didn't seem to learn from it. Can't blame them for that.

Ouch, 4 Cannondale riders DNFs today. Their cobbled team is truly abysmal this year. At least Bettiol showed himself nicely this time.
Apparently most of the team is sick.

Kristoff's leadout pulled quite the swerve in front of everyone else. That contributed to Etixx messing up their own leadout.

What were the organizers thinking having that corner at 350m?

that corner was there already for some time in this stage in previous years

Bak abandoned maybe fallen as well like Greipel?
