BTW, I was banned very shortly thereafter permanently...then by some strange occurrence, my ban was lifted a couple of months later.
What had you done?

If you remember that particular ban amongst all the others that is;)

Because it was a week after I started posting. I went on an Armstrong rant, and it made someone mad.

1994 visits, 867 posts - that's greater than a 2:1 ratio! Quality not quantity TFF. :p

Yea, it would seem that my post quality is suffering here lately. I think there need to be more Armstrong fanboys here for me to catch up...only problem is that I think their numbers are diminishing dramatically...

You might have to start ripping on Evens........

Yea, but I like Evens now. When I have to choose between him, Contador, and Schlecklet, its no choice anymore. Unfortunately, me bagging on Canc and thing one and thing two and their Leopard Trek weak a$$ed jerseys doesn't bring the same howls picking on national heroes from countries with more than 16 people. Heck even slamming Wigans isn't all that much fun anymore.

I have a poor 3771 visits for my near 6000 posts.

On the other hand, there is a clear increase in viewings for the Giro video in my signature from the moment I added it to my signature (though that could just be me watching it so many times).

The forum here came to life on 3-2-09, but only Dan Benson (Tsar of CyclingNews) seems to have registered on that day. Susan and other staff were added on the 5th. I believe it took a day or two before it was open to everyone, as the very first thread was on 3-10-09, the same day I registered, along with TFF, Merckx, VeloGirl, Jamsque, Angliru, and a couple others who no longer post. However, ElChingon somehow has us beat, having registered on the 9th. I can't find anyone else before that (not including staff).

Many of the other regulars you know trickled in within a week or two.

Wow, seems I was an early adopter too. Bizarrely, I've only posted 757 times for 2,100 views. What on earth did I say to justify that much attention?

...and my ratio of posts to visits...Hitch I have you beat there. My 'boredom factor', aka not much interest in visiting my site, outwhops almost everyone! :(
ha...whatever :)

...wish there were more emoticons.

Ok, I seem to be batting 1003 wickets for 603 runs - or something. Have never figured how to count in cricket, but it means there's 1000 views for 600 posts.

However, as others wonder about as well, most of the "recent visitors" have been on there for quite a bit - and if the count doesn't include yourself (do we have confirmation of that?) then does it mean that most visits are by lurkers?

Gee - I thought I was the only one preoccupied by these statistics, but good to know we are many who wants to be noticed...

I for one have watched the Giro video from your link many times; its just to good to not watch.

Interestingly enough, Joe Papp, who you would think would be a lightening rod, has a mere 1:2 wicket to run ratio (visits to posts).

I wondered about that feature as well - what a bunch of self absorbed schmucks we are :)
You guys and gals keep the threads active and interesting (mostly). Just think how boring this forum would be if everyone else added comments as infrequently as I do.

Off topic, and in the wrong arena (but what the hell)... So who is the greatest current classic rider? Philippe Gilbert certainly laid down a dominating hand this past week.

..I am pondering if there is some formula that may rely on number of posts/day w/r to visits, as it seems with some numbers it almost gets to an exponential factor...

Here's a fun one:

Registered August 2010. Lurked for a few months before that, but wanted to be able to change settings. Been reading/lurking ever since. 205 profile views.

Annnnnd, this is my first post.

Hey y'all *waves* :D

3093 posts, 3719 visits, 10 friends.

Started posting in July 2009 as a LA defender (fanboy) and was re-calibrated after some back-and-forth with Race Radio (Eva Maria).

Most of my visits (I think) were due to some effort on the Babes thread. Sex sells.

Prolly needs it's own thread in the race section but it's a 3 horse race between Phil, Spartacus and Tommeke isn't it?

That must be one of the best post/profile view rates on the forum: 1/205!

Although I have no idea how people found your profile

Anyways, welcome!

Well there is not much need to snoop around and try to figure out who he is, is there?;)

I assume the views are from Search Engine Bots. If you type in your user name and 'Senior Member' into google, it will come up with your profile. I'd guess therefore that the number of views would be proportional to the length of time registered.

Ha ha :D

I was just alerted to the fact that I am Regular (non-Staff) member Numero Uno! A stat nobody can ever replicate.

For the thread

Total Posts
698

2,445 visits (I think this count was benefited in a major part by the buttery bacon, no one else has it!)

3.5 Ratio

And 32 friends. I know I started to friend members before most did but soon got tired of it as the forum doesn't really have a full friend type feature anyway or no real benefit other than listing them for you if you like to view them.

PS: I will never tell how I got to be number one! Some don't know how much of an insider I am, and those in the know will never tell. Long live the Forum Omerta! :p
