I think people forget about Cunego, his form was rising throughout the Al Pais Vasco and he has won here before. I'm officially calling a podium in this one, then a couple of stage wins in Trentino before capping a bounce back week with a win in Liege. It will happen!

I'm sure Cunego will be in the top 10, but it seems like he has lost a bit of the punch he had earlier in his career. Can't see him winning again, but a podium spot is possible although not very likely imo - the competition is stiff.

Hesjedal was 3rd in 2010 wasn't he? Could he be up there tomorrow again you think?

He was 2nd in fact in 2010. It's always possible that he'll contend again, but Hesjedal has stated that he is not targeting the Ardennes this year. He is mostly riding them as a warm up for the Giro.

I like looks of j.rod and gurrens to do well here, sam should be up their but may just lack what he needs to win.

If people wait until the final climb and fancy their chances against Purito, they are truly idiots. Only a few have a chance in an uphill sprint vs. Purito. Valverde and perhaps Sagan. Maybe Evans. Gilbert hasn't "recharged" his batteries.

That said, I'm hoping Sammy Sanchez wins tomorrow.

I wonder if Rodriguez will be able to do the same as Gilbert (pulling back Schleck) if everyone races against him.

I don't think they're smart enough to all race against Purito. I think many are confident of their own chances. I think Sagan falls in this category. He's young enough to be overconfident. Valverde may be proud enough to feel that he can go head-to-head with Purito. That should be a good fight, but Purito is better in this kind of short, punchy climb.

I don't think Rodriquez would even do the chasing if somebody dangerous like Schleck gets off the front because he would just totally drain himself out before the ascent of the Cauberg.

Agreed, I doubt we would see Rodriguez doing the chasing. Plus his lack of time trialing skills means he probably wouldn't have much chance of catching whoever goes off the front.

I won't mind is this guy win, not that i particularly support him or anything

I am hoping he can pull off a big win in ardennes, he's always second to someone when it comes to the big races. I'd like to see him reverse that trend.

Its not a question of "if" but which one of the Omegas is on the podium tomorrow?

I would say Chavanel is the only one I can see on the startlist capable of doing something like that. Not going to happen though.

Personally, I don't belive Rodiguez has the power necessary to win a sprint on the Cauberg against the other contenders. It's not nearly steep enough, the race in general isn't for lightweights.

He was second last year behind Gilbert, and Gilbert doesn't have the same form this year.
