I'm not sure you can cal BMC a disappointment though, as long as you apply reasonable standards to them. Gilbert isn't superhuman this year, but he made a good race, and BMC was present all the time. And I'm saying that as a big BMC hater.

Actually there's only one, and will always be one great, awesome and epic fail.
Just search for teh Rabobus.

Cunego messing up Nordhaug and himself. That was stupid.

And a massively epic daring attack by Freire there, I was hoping he'd win.

Cunego yelling at Nordhaug and blaming him for his stuipd crash. Cunego is riding like a drunk italian, if someone is to blame for this crash is Cunego not Nordhaug. Impressive ride by Nordhaug by the way, he could have ended up with a top 5 if Cunego didnt mess it up for him.

Good Gasprotte did not drink Amstel before the race he seemed to enjoy it on the podium ;-)

Sh**!! Cunego did a regular hockey-tackle on Nordhaug who sat on Gasparottos wheel. Nordhaug DNF, taken away in an ambulance. And Cunego had the nerve to be angry?? STOOPID!

Weird that the only top favourites who were even visible were Gilbert (who clearly doesn't have it yet, but probably will by LBL) and Sagan (who somehow managed to lose this; maybe too long a peak for someone his age?). The most puzzling of all of course was Purito.

God- that was a very thrilling finale: I was hoping for Oscarito to make it to the finish- Nice win by Gasparoto-well timed attack
Sagan to me lost the race on tactical maneuvers-his youth makes him too impatient to read the circumstances properly... he will win AGR in years to come-no doubt about it.

-Nice to Gilbert back on track...

Did anyone get a proper view of the crash? What exactly happened?

Cunego covered Gilbert's first move then got boxed when Gilbert went again. PANIC. Went straight right into Nordhaug. He should have known there was still plenty of climb left at that point and there was no need to panic

Agreed that Sagan seems too impatient. When he got to the front, with Voeckler, he might have put in too much of an effort (however slight), which he could have/should have saved for the last K. Voeckler had to go, he is no sprinter, but Sagan should have iced his nerves.

Much respect to Gilbert who obviously is a real winner and always takes his responsibility, even though he's not entirely there yet.

Pity Freire didn't take it. Gutsy ride.

It was f''king astana monkey (iglinskiy?) who tackled Damiano. It was not Cunegos fault.

Yeah it was Iglinsky fault, he kind of slide a bit, and in order to avoid him Cunego had to change direction suddenly. It was a pity because Damiano looked very good.

After today he is my favourite for Liege

this is it. Hard race, tough on the legs, very few would have had anything left at the end.

I dont agree.

If for example CVV Kreuziger and Cobo beat Contador Schleck etc in the TOur de France, would we say, oh its because the race was hard?

No becuase these guys, Contador and Schleck in 1 example, Purito Valverde in the other, are precisely the kind of guys who benefit from the race being hard.
