2 GC contenders left after only one mountainstage and a lot more to come with Atapuma still not out. Stage 11 he'll gonna do it >

Atapuma probably isn't the smartest, since this Tour de l'Avenir only has 7 stages. Or maybe there is an after party I know nothing about.

favs for 15th probably
Daotec was bolding half of the list (mainly colombians mind you) as 'favorites'

If you are going to name so many as favorites, you might as well add the entire lot yeah.

Who gives a toss about the teams competition? Has the nation of Colombia turned into RadioShack or something?

again a showing of you not having a clue about cycling. when a race is filled with 6 man teams the team gc winner usually wins the indivual gc as well because they have most guys in top to send in attacks. this peloton can never be held under control until the end

In perspective Individual GC of the top ranked Nation, after only 1 mountain stage.
3 top 10 spots, where Atapuma had to come from the GC back end:

2. Jarlinson Pantano - Colombia 00:17
6. Alexander Quintana - Colombia 0:01:17
8. Darwin Atapuma - Colombia 01:25

23. Camilo Suarez - Colombia 04:07
42. Esteba Cháves - Colombia 09:54
43. Sebastián Salazar - Colombia 10:14

So very good balanced indead, non of the riders in the second half of the GC, and that just only from one Colombian team Colombia es Passion, while the other nations take the best from all over the country.
What if the youngsters now running around in other races in Colombia had stepped in?
Me oh My you wouldn't want to know.

Btw, Nelson Oliveira finished 1'30 behind Degenkolb
Oliveira was considered a favorite as well.

So, who was bashing me? ;)

Well, because i know nothing about him

He rides for PWS Eijssen, a good Belgian U23 squad, and is going to BMC next year. He won the Tour de L'Isard this year, was sixth in U23 LBL and won the Beverbeek Classic (the opening classic at .2 level). The kid's got talent and is a good climber, so it's not surprising to have him up there. He's also Belgium's leader for the U23 Worlds.

Don't know how rich he is, but rich enough to start a cycling team. Clinton Avery - stagiaire at RadioShack atm - is a PWS Eijssen guy too. They're continuing now that Yannick is moving on to BMC: Jasper Stuyven (2009 junior world champ, 2010 junior world champs bronze medallist, 2010 PR junior champ) is joining them next year from Avia Cycling Team.

The team that brought us your favourite rider, Robert Gesink. And TGBM as well.

according to Mikel Landa (6th in todays stage), Eijssen atacked on the 2.cat climb with 2 colombians and some other guys on his wheel, then 1 of the colombians crashed and blocked a bit the road and the break was made,, there was no good understanding in the bunch, Mikel + some others tried to atack on the 1cat but it was too late and the gap already too big

Eijssen did great but he got luck aswell, i think of 2-3 riders being at his same level (if not higher) climbing

If guys like Pantano or Talansky are really stronger, I'm sure they'll take the lead eventually (ok, for Talansky it might be a little difficult by now). There's two uphill finishes left, of which one is the fairest type imaginable: a time trial.

lol daotec/ryo might rival acf in fanoyism.

stage 6 (?) should be good.

I agree that the strongest riders still have time to win. I think the top ten are all fair game still.

Yannick Eijssen Belgian cyclist has won the third stage of the Tour de l'Avenir with finish in the col du Beal, First Class, ahead of Colombian Jarlinson Pantano.

21, Eijssen is one of the Belgians with the greatest talents in 2011 and bear the BMC. This year, won the classic Beverbeek Classic and a stage and overall Ronde de l'Isard
5th win for the season to BMC!

ACF will blow his load at this no doubt.
look forward to seeing the full results.

Great recruiting by BMC and well done Eijsssen. But I guess BMC are full of 2nd rate riders so it must of been a fluke that a future BMC rider could get a results in a race.

Seriously? BMC had only 4 wins? Wow, that's poor.

2 evans
2 burghardt
1 Louder

I expect two more this weekend and to pick up some more races later in the year. I think cadel will win lombardy.

Only 5 wins in a season is pretty sad.
Especially as the Tour de L'Ain robbed Steve Morobito of a win, just because he took a different route.

So, now we have BMC = Belgian Man Crush,
when the obvious solution is: BMC = Buy More Columbians.:D

Only four - Yannick Eijssen's Avenir win is one for PWS Eijssen. We're not counting Greipel's wins for Lotto, are we?
