I don't understand Gilbert's tactics. Does he really think he can beat Kwiatkowski in a sprint?

Yeah, he should go solo with 15k to go right

Maybe he wants to drop him on the last climb? I honestly don't know and I have to say that right now Kwiat is the outstanding favorite. Only way I can see anyone beating him is if someone attacks and nobody wants to chase.

every time they show the 2nd group same 3 guys are working
Yeah, Valverde has been taking a lot of turns.

barguill and costa have taken none for some strange reason
Sunweb are by far the most ridiculously negative team in the peloton. I presume he's sitting up hoping matthews can bridge.

Surely Albasini is at least af fast as Kwiatkowski in a sprint?

People thinking they know better than the riders who are in the race where only they know how they feel, and besides there's plenty of racing left

GVA and Valverde both take a good pull, get 8 seconds off the gap and then the next guy starts looking around instead off chasing.

Anyone but Rojas, Haas or Albasini. There are so many guys I like in the first two groups that I would be really disappointed if one of those wins.

The way Kwiatkowski rode across to the lead group reminded me of when he rode across to Sagan at Strade Bianca a few years ago. Great great legs today.

Looks like it could be Kwiatkowski v Rojas here. Unless Gilbert can do another ridiculous solo.
Kwiatkowski vs Albasini for me. Hard to choose between those two.

But then Haas can sprint too. Rojas doing no work, rightly so, but his usual 4th no doubt.

Exciting race this and whilst I agree with your Kwia vs Albasini, I think we're guaranteed a close well fought sprint from this bunch.

A racist and an actual fascist in the winning group.

And a hypocrite in this thread.
I didn't realise Zinoviev was a fascist, always thought he was a Bolshie. He was friends with Trotsky I thought.
