did Onley only race for the first line ? not that it would have made the difference anyway but I thought the finish line was the one with the black line, but he just free wheeled after he passed the first ad one.

On first review this should be a new climbing record and performances between 80-82 on my Index for the first 4. Very high level on this sort of short climb to have multiple rider at 80 or above. Of course some riders paced a bit senselessly to make it happen.

6.40 apparently!!

Great climb, Onley said after the stage he isn’t in shape yet so could be quite a season. They can thank Almeida who had also attacked previously.

The motorcycles helped a lot.

With this help, even Van Baarle will have surpassed the record :tearsofjoy:

Ayuso fourth photo finish on a mountain top within a year after Thursday and his two battles with Roglic in Catalunya last year.

That seems like a lot!

What if Riccitello was more more visible in front to lay down the gauntlet before Seixas' attack? What if the Ineos riders rode cohesively in front to tire out Ayuso and Seixas? What if Lidl-Trek unleash Alvarez to further test his full potentials? What if Grosschartner and Almeida worked in tandem in front of the GC peloton? Anyway, kudos to Trek riders (Alvarez and Verona) who did most of the chasing the strong breakaway.

That is fairly typical for a rider of his profile and age. Most of these young climbers need a few seasons at the professional level to really dial in their positioning and find some aero efficiency on the flat.
