I think Fuglsang has been quietly preparing himself for this, and can surprise people on Sunday..... through my main favorites are Valverde and Martin.

What has Dan Martin done this year to make him your favorite?

Ardennes classics have really degraded if a rider like Dan Martin is a favorite.
An experienced rider with 2 monument wins and a top 10 in the Tour last year shouldn’t be among the favourites for a series of races where he picked up 2 2nd places last season?

Granted he hasn’t shown much so far in 2018, but you can’t dismiss him. I think he’s an outsider for this Sunday, but he’s definitely one of the men to beat next week.

His Lombardia win was kind of laughable, I still don't understand how Valverde **** that one up lol.

Devolder is also a two-time Monument winner, doesn't make him any less of a joke.

Someone like Dan Martin would've gotten destroyed in the Bartoli-Bettini era of cycling.
Are you such a critical person outside of cycling talk? Your posts are 90% negativity, always tearing things down. Riders, races, parcours...
Dan Martin is neither Contador or Belgian. Therefore a garbage rider according to El Pickle.

Edit: apparently Nibali isn’t garbage either

One thing I don't get about Mur De Huy is why they don't try to turn it into a mini-mountain. Why aren't more of the climbers attacking in the bottom of the hill? It's better to give it a try than racing for 6th. Last person who did that was Igor Anton. Without success, but at least he tried.
It’s just that 100-200 metres too long. Every few years someone tries anyway and they all get reminded of why everyone waits.

Even riders like Contador, Evans and 2013 Betancur tried and failed.

My favorite cyclist is Nibali. Try again.

Dan Martin is a bore, a rider without charisma.

I like cyclists who attack a lot and don't just rely on their sprint or time trial capabilities. And if I get the choice I also prefer cyclists with a good reputation in clinic matters, like David Moncoutie.

The worst cyclist ever is a sprinter who can time trial (aka Kittel who can't even finish Roubaix and finishes more than 16 minutes down in Milan-San Remo).

I thought Dan Martin's last two rides in the Tour have been pretty good. He showed a lot of guts in the last one after a heavy crash.

If I am not mistaken he tried attacking on stages to take time back also. In stages after his crash.

You have good taste in riders that you like - Contador, Boonen, Gilbert, Nibali etc - but holy sh!t are you harsh on everyone else.

The break:

Bram Tankink (LottoNL-Jumbo)
Tsgabu Grmay (Trek-Segafredo)
Matteo Bono (UAE Team Emirates)
Lawson Craddock (EF-Drapac)
Oscar Riesebeek (Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij)
Eddie Dunbar (Aqua Blue Sport)
Marco Tizza (Nippo-Vini Fantini)
Willem Smit (Katusha-Alpecin)
Preben Van Hecke (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise).

They always give riders 15 minutes in the Amstel. They usually easily make it up. Only once there was a french neo-pro who held on until the Keuteberg, that was Bardet btw, on the old course with cauberg finish.

I think they will be caught before the actual finale.
