I'd add Vanhoucke, 2nd with the Belgium team. He only just returned after being out for a while with anemia and the only race he's ridden between May and today is the Tour of Poland, but he could be dangerous. After all, he was the only U23 to beat Bernal on a climb in a H2H last year (1st stage of Savoie).

What about E Dunbar, should he not be on the list

Their official time would be 52:42:something. The non-officiel is their time without taking their delay into account, and it's also a note that it's yet to be decided whether they get to continue the race.

Sosa is horrible on a TT bike. And with horrible I mean even compard to a Purito he is bad. He is lucky there is no ITT this year.

Sosa must truly suck at the TT discipline. At least we know where we stand with him!

The list is personal. It is based on a pre-start ranking that reflected the results on the mountain stages of this year's U23 stage races. That is also why it did not include H.Vanhoucke. Only first-tier favorites are part of it.

Horrible from Colombia. While Sosa might be bad at TT, I doubt the team had to wait for him. (otherwise he couldn't even follow a peloton).

Arriving the six riders together may be indicative that they didn't push (lack of leadership, I guess). Moreover, If they wanted an easy day, time losses were limited to 2 minutes.

Osorio said they were happy with the result and cherry-picked Russia and GB teams for a comparison (but nothing about McNulty, Hirschi. or Pogacar).

I wouldn't look past the Italians, Bagioli and Battistella are really talented and Covi is also a strong rider who finished top 10 in the Baby Giro.

I have a soft spot for the Mongolian rider of the UCI WCC team, Tegsh-bayar Batsaikhan, a track cycling guy. in 2016 he became the Scratch Junior WC with 5 months of training and pretty much no knowledge of track cycling before coming to Aigle:
"It is a fantastic result for this 18-year-old athlete who prepared for the Worlds at the UCI WCC. The Centre’s coaches detected the young Mongolian’s talent when he attended a short training camp at the WCC satellite centre in Korea in 2015. After studying the data from his performances on the Wattbike (stationary training bike) the coaches contacted the Mongolian Cycling Federation at the beginning of 2016 and invited him to join the trainees based in Aigle."

Durning the Winter he's at home, but there isn't a velodrome in Ulan Bator, so the guy is training on the road with -20 to -30°C, he's hard as nails.
