I think we have to thank Ullrich and Zabel for this.
Many of them only started cycling because of them.

This generation - they are all coming now. :)

Kruopis has had a very good spring, be interesting to see if he is still at Landbouwkrediet next year or if he's picked up by a bigger team.

Does anyone have more info about the french Petit? He did fairly good in some smaller classics last months.

This is what has been the problem for German cycling of late, with Zabel growing old, Ulle retiring. It's a bit similar to the USA - the riders of Lance/Jan's generation who were there with them are now getting old (though some are still around doing a decent job eg Klöden) but the riders who were kids inspired by their antics are only just coming through to the pro ranks now, and there's little in between.

I'm surprised Kittel wasn't snapped up by HTC already. He looked like exactly the kind of rider they want - he's a brilliant time triallist with a good sprint on him. Maybe if he makes a big enough name for himself, Harmon won't think he's related to Harvey Keitel anymore too.
