Yes, Stybar! I knew I was right when I expected something out of him.

How did Voeckler win? From a breakaway?

No. Voeckler declassified the others.

He rode with Stybar to the front group (With Fedrigo and co there). Then he simply accelerated the rest out of his wheel and build up a 1'30 lead in 12km or so.

Voeckler was in a league of his own. Way better than those other tossers. Simply way and way and way better

Seeing OPL destroy some good tt squads was cool :p

And all of a sudden Liquigas ends in front of them of course

You sound like Renaat and Karl. You'd fit in perfectly there.
Bakelandts will win the Giro!

Yeah, but considering it's Stybar's first ever road race it's pretty impressive ;) Where is Pozzato for example

+ he was already in a breakaway day before, so good show from Stybar.

Then don't listen to Sporza, problem solved, no?
then the problem gets worse.. ever listened to Ducrot? Or maybe Backstedt/Harmon?

You WILL want to rip your ears out or scream at the TV and murder innocent animals.

At Sporza I only get the intention to punch a random person. That's not too bad

Okay. Bakelants, Bakelandts. What's the deal?

I think it's Bakelandts. He can definitely win a stage here. Getting top 10, I don't see him doing it, but all is possible. Just compare OPL ttt from 2009 with 2011 xD

And I only listen to Sporza and Italian commentators from time to time :)

Compared to Phil Liggett and Paulo Martins, Harmon is an absolute commentary legend.

It's Bakelants in his website and in a bunch of other sources, and Bakelandts in another bunch of sources, so I spell it Bakelants but I wonder if there's any story behind the variation.

Yes, I assume his website janbakelants.be has it spelled correctly. Otherwise: FAIL.

Wow, what is up with Voeckler this year? 7 victories, all from breakaways... unbelievable. Hopefully he'll have some form left for the TDF too.

I repeat the one of today was not from a breakaway. He was simply the strongest.. he rode from the peloton (with Stybar) to the breakaway group. And then he rode from the breakaway group solo to the finish.

yep tommy voeckler looks very strong nowadays, definitely maybe a mental click or a better training regime.this guy stayed in the wheel of michele scarponi and the others were pretty much dropped.
certainly he will win a stage in le tour,at least one.

I rather think that going in all those breakaways over the years have really made him physically strong.

It is like Jacky Durand but even more powerfull. Durand just kept going into breakaways and eventually won Flanders + Paris Tours.

A very big win isnt far away for Voeckler, he seems so strong nowadays.

i have to agree with this

Voeckler is prolly the best breakaway specialist(if there is such thing) in the peloton today. he has been timing his attacks to perfection. like last year in one of the canadian races

i hope he manages to get a really big win in the next couple of years.

Voeckler the breakaway artist replacing durand and voigt. I predicted he would go well here and win ( pg 8 ). Pity docker worked for kittel because now he cannot podium. Also happy that stybar.

Niels Albert is the only one of the golden young 3 at cyclocross that needs to try on the road now :p

How I pity the fools that have to go through the winter without cyclocross xD

Niels Albert has tried on the road... he won a mountain stage of the Circuito Montáñes last year.

Pro rank duh. He's been talking about trying it in the real races to focus a season on the road. Sven Nys has also ridden on the road a lot, but mostly just to keep him busy and a bit of training(except perhaps Paris-Roubaix), so I don't think that really counts :p

I mean like Lars Boom and Stybar. Deciding to focus on the road and if it turns out great stay there.

I wonder what kind of rider he'd become. He seems way skinnier than Lars Boom and Stybar. I guess a man for the hilly classics. Doubt he'd be a GT threat with his cyclocross background(one hour vs 3 weeks)

Actually, Stybar is a guy for the hilly classics. (proven that as espor already).
Boom is, I think, also more for the hilly classics, or he was in the past, but somehow he thinks he is better on cobbles.
Albert is more a climber. A real climber. Also good at short ITT's.. I think he'd be a good stage-racer, at least for 1 week races. Hard to tell.
