He looked like had some problems on Bikotz Gane but then he was great in the end.
3 tough climbs tomorrow in the last 50km that is steeper and longer. I think other teams are gonna make it hard early. So we will see.

I was just writing words to that effect, when I saw your post.
I'm SO annoyed by that last crash, young dane Honore was right there at the front, finally without a captain...... would have liked to see what he could have done.
Oh well, maybe tomorrow

Strange that Astana didn't ride the Cat 1 harder to make it uncomfortable for Schachmann, instead of sitting in the wheels - I suspect the leader will struggle in the next two stages - Impressed by the showing of the young riders.

Fuglsang always starts slow on climbs. - He very rarely follows accelerations immediately.
But he usually always comes back, especially on long climbs..... it's quite the usual thing to see 2-3-4 favorites go clear, in a proper climbers punch over 500 meters..... and then a few minutes later, Fuglsang works his way up to them, ever so slowly.
He is a "diesel engine", not a high octane petrol engine.

I agree Pogacar will be there - but saying "only" - is far too soon to say..... there are plenty of young talented climber domestiques in the peloton this race, who know the next 2 days can make or break them, in terms of what stage races they ride the rest of the year.
Motivation to do well will be high.

yes, why? the team gave him full backing in Algarve and he´s doing great there now too. he adapted much better than many of the past UAE riders. 2019 is a turnaround for the team. the new staff are doing a good job.
