Rubiano passed the top with 1.39 in deficit on Sevilla group. But Rubiano is a good descender, from what i saw at his time at Antenucci in the Italian races.

most anti climaxic linea stage in history of the vuelta. still some hard stages to come

Whose idea it was to shorten this race?

If we don't get foreign teams, then who cares!!!!

They should move the Vuelta to earlier than July so that maybe we get Quintana, Uran or other Colombian riders to race in Colombia. They can come with their B teams anyway. In that case, 10-11 stages is fine. If they are going to train at altitude in Colombia might as well do it during the Vuelta.

TBH, I want the best Colombian riders to win it like in the past. Not a bunch of retired cyclists from the past.

Only dreaming!

Neither Quintana nor Uran will ever ride this race in the current status. And why should they? They have nothing to win here. Just look at Duarte.

There are two options:
- keep it like it is as a 2.2 or NE event of only regional importance, usually won by old dopers or semi-retired ex-pros
- try to become a 2.1 or 2.HC race to attract better teams/riders from abroad AND the best Colombian pros

Option two requires adjustments like the race length regulations, international participation etc., loss of local teams. But in return you may get one day the big names to ride it.

You are right. I know about the current status. It would have to change the category.

Duarte is a bad comparison.

option 2 would be ridiuclous to do. the race is local and popular locally and in surrounding countries. it would be best to make the race an NE event and bring back histpric climbs like the legendary 83 km letras that uci forbids federation to ever use again in the race
