Interested to see how Marc Soler rides as I believe he is down to race both events on opening weekend and given how well he rode in the break of the day at Paris-Roubaix last year I am curious as to whether they think he can be a genuine cobbled classics contender or if it's just all round prep for Grand Tours.
Marc Soler ??

you will find that they are not the best source for start lists

to be fair, he still is on the provisional start list on the official website of the race as well

Obviously, now Movistar's plans changed, but it's not like CN just made that up
No, but CN do not really make any effort to keep their lists up to date

Royal Belgian Cycling League has

I agree with what most have said. Don't care for the middle east races. The start of the real season begins now, climbers go do their private training thing, and the Rouleurs come out to play. Way too hard to predict, but I'll just say Stybar from Quick Step.

The weather is looking great for the weekend. On Saturday it's going to be mostly (a pretty strong) tailwind from Geraardsbergen to Ninove. I'd rather have that than rain. Kuurne on the other hand could definitely use some rain to decrease the chances of a large bunch sprint, and that's exactly what we're getting.

Søren Kragh Andersen has also fallen sick and is out of Omloop. Huge disappointment after his fantastic race last week.
Damn, after his shitty spring last year I had hoped this was his year. Its only the opening weekend tho, there still a good month until the the cobble week.

YES, bring it on. I hardly ever watch any of the middle eastern races, or the Iberian season openers so Omloop for me always is the real start of the season. Just when I get a bit tired of the skiing season the cycling season starts with some of the best races of the year. Gilbert ftw

Don't you have something very important to do this weekend? :p
Guess what it just turned out I do

Direct Energie
201 TERPSTRA Niki
202 GAUDIN Damien
203 LIGTHART Pim
204 PETIT Adrien
205 PICHOT Alexandre
206 CARDIS Romain
207 TURGIS Anthony
That's quite impressive for a PCT.
What in earth, Terpstra went to direct energie? How on earth did I not notice that.

Nothing to worry about, just the most eyebrow-raising transfer of the decade
Se I even transfers get more exciting if I'm not paying attention.

Terpstra has a big score to settle with Quickstep right?
I thought Terpstra's departure was relatively amicable?

I think he wanted to stay with QS but they said they couldn't afford him, according to this article:
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/patrick-lefevere-it-hurt-to-let-niki-terpstra-go/
Lefevere wanted to keep Terpstra as well, it sounded like both sides understood the situation.

IIRC this was before Lefèvre signed Deceuninck as new sponsor. They knew they couldn't keep all their biggest stars (Gaviria, Alaphilippe, Mas, Terpstra...) on their budget at the time. So they had to let some guys go... and then a few weeks later they signed a new sponsor.

since your post more riders no longer on the startlist include Matej Mohoric, who crashed on today's training ride.(He'll miss both HN & KBK).
