Poels :p

On the plus side it's good to see him back in form after a tough season, just in time for Froomie at the Vuelta.
Or just in time to **** froome over and go for his own chance and pull a Froome 2011 Vuelta :p

And just when he is about to take it he'll pull a Porte (or Poels for that matter) and have that one day that ruins all his chances :p

If Landa couldn't do it then I doubt Poels can
Landa is actually good at obeying orders. Maybe Poels will be different, seeing how he was screwed in the Tour squad selection process - one can always hope :D

I don't see it, Poels and Froome actually get on fine and it was the correct call not taking him to the Tour with so little racing, could have done him more harm than good. He's also got a presumably large contract with Sky through until the end of 2019. But yeah, if you don't support Froome you could always hope :)

First Landa was going to do his own thing to upset the sky train, now its Poels, some folks wet dreams are blinding them

WTF what Teuns thinking? No need to lead the pack and spend energy, when Haig is of no danger whatsoever....

bet it was orders from BMC DSs....they make soem shocking decisions
I think this was a good decision. Ride hard tempo and minimize the chances of somebody getting away.
The others could've finished Teuns off on the last ascent, but they waited, waited, waited.

Teuns was lucky they didn't made time gaps in the end. He lost several real time seconds to Poels and Jungels.

But yeah, he looked toast at the last hill and actually maybe would be better off being behind Majka before tomorrow. Now he's gonna lose Dennis, TJ and Sammy trying to defend the all-in attacks tomorrow. It's gonna be a fun stage!

Looking at the profiles on page 1 and having read that today's last climb was over 9% average for about 4 km, it seems like tomorrow's climbs are less steep - i.e. somewhat easier to control.

Maybe less steep on average, but irregular and there are a couple of very steep pitches. Hence, still pretty difficult to control.

I was just thinking that it would be fun if Jungels could do so a yo-yo tomorrow and take the race on the final climb, which is a power climb. However, he's a bit to far down on GC for that. Still, he really does know how to measure out his effort.

Haigh took the stage with panache. It looked for a minute as if the race would completely split open, but as someone stated above, maybe they are leaving Teuns out to dry.

Still, it's a risky tactic, especially with 10 guys within 30secs of each other. Should be a good day tomorrow.
