Yes, maybe, but still 2 UWT UCI WT races should be: PN, TA, VCC, PV, TdR, CdD, TdS and 3xGT.
Others: categorized in lower classes.

Well, it was a nice race today exactly because Kwiatkowski was isolated. He was put between two chairs by Yates' attack, because he risked losing the race whichever choice he took. But he managed to balance it perfectly, so it was almost solely his own performance today and not that of his team, that secured him the overall (yes I know Sivakov and Henao took some pulls too...).

Yates were 39 seconds behind him in GC and Kwiatkowski had two teammates with him. It would've been a mistake to follow Yates attack. You might be right that Kwiato will never be the leader in a GT, but Yates winning the stage today has nothing to do with that.

Kwiatkowski is great for one-week stage races (preferably not too mountainous) and one-day races and deserves to be leader in those races (although his form can be very erratic), but Grand Tours? He simply lacks the ability to climb with the best and as mentioned previously his form is too erratic.

If he wants to lead a Grand Tour he should do it in a role like Alaphilippe or Majka (when his goal was KoM and stage hunting and not GC).

Exactly. Race leader simply can't chase each and every attack of top 10 GC riders. It's the easy way to wear himself down and lose whole race. So why would he do that while still having teammates around him?

Yeah and that while Yates was even dropped on the penultimate climb when the going got tough. Most riders would then get scared and ease off and follow. He just attacked anyway

It could have been a calculated risk, since it often the case that there is a major attack from the closest GC contenders on the Bukowina Wall which then gets nullified. The less steep slopes on the next hill are a good place to counter attack after riding the wall at a "more steady pace".

Either way it was an enjoyable stage and an impressive win.

I guess Dumoulin and Froome couldn't even follow Yates when the going got tough in the first two weeks of the Giro. Lol such bad riders. No chance in GC for them.

Yes I agree, even though he blew up in the final 2 mountain stages there are very few riders out there that could have done what he did in those first 2 weeks.
