Last year the winner of FW did the Giro and as it turns out, peaked too early

This comparison is a little cheap Hitch. Contador can easily do both, in theory.
I don't like Contador and I do like Cadel, but AC is twice the rider Cadel is.

(Don't get me wrong, Cadel is still one of the best riders in the world)

If you win you normally get your stake back.

What are you saying
In response to the 6,5 $ profit?
1$ wager --> 7,5$ return
=6,5$ profit

I hope I misunderstood you.

He will get 8.50 return.
7.50 winnings +1 stake money.
Surely.

If this is true, sorry, I had no idea :)
Are you sure about this, because it seems illogical to me?

Sorry, you and search are correct. I should have read the original post.

Definately Purito.

Only competitor is Contador. This is ofcourse if the bunch goes up the Mur de Huy together. What if a group stays away?

Won't happen.

This has been a 2km race for quite some time now.
I'll change my avatar to Liberace if a breakaway group makes it.

Purito, AC, Anton.

Or was Anton injured or something?

After today, Im taking Cunego out of the mix. this is a straight 1 on 1 mano a mano Purito vs Pistolero, Catalunia vs Madrid, Katusha vs Saxo, Rodriguez vs Contador.

this.

not sure I'm buying the anton factor here. Hasn't seemed good, last year he had showed more at this point.

ac @ 7.50 is very very tempting i must say.
I will think on this :p

I really do like jrod for this tho...
3rd place; a schleck, gesink, samu/anton, cunego, Gilert or horner maybe?
is tondo racing? he could be up there maybe... what about scarponi-is he racing? convinced this classic suits him.

Outside of Scheldprijs, this is for me the least anticipated race of the season. Seems like the same thing every year... not that the final drag isn't fun, but it just lacks the drama of the way the finale builds in other really great races. I still watch of course; it is interesting to see who is going to get the finish right, who goes too soon, etc.

As my attempts at prognostication this spring have been beyond dreadful, seems pointless of me to attempt a prediction. Going w/the conventional wisdom..hard to look past Purito; only guy to look like coming close to Phil on Sunday and the finish suits him.

Alway a little melancholy seeing classics season winding down. :(

But then again, that just means it's time for the Giro! :D

Horner isn't riding.

Tondo is racing.

I reckon Geniez will finish high up. Talented Frenchman.

Geniez is having a great season, top 10 is a possibility. Can't see him cracking the podium tho.

I wonder if he will attract the attention of any of the other top teams.

He should attract interest. Europcar or Cofidis will be my main two guesses. Cofidis so he can help Taaramae and Europcar for Rolland.

Shame Skil weren't invited to the Tour.

he is probably better then rolland.
Would like to see he him have a free role there.

I'd like to see him go somewhere like vasc. who need a GC man.
I like seeing french talents outside of french sqauds.

Out of all the Frenchman on the scene at the moment, Geniez is their best chance for a GT.

Coppel perhaps and of course Peraud. But as the young guns, Geniez is the best I think and I will be surprised if he's riding with Skil next year.
