Both DSM youngsters and Champoussin survived a tough day on the saddle. Tomorrow we'll see if they're already good enough climbers to have a shot at the GC top10.
Skjelmose as well, 11th today, was missing in the initial results sheet.

Interesting paradox. Krujswijk, a Dutch performing worse in bad weather than Soler, a Spaniard (for it to work i'll ignore on him being Catalan). Btw, i'm predicting Soler to end up 6th in the Giro.

Van Wilder is i think the youngest of the new breed of Belgian flyers (with Vansevenant and Vandelabele) that most likely will turn into Ardennes guys with maybe occasional GC try like Wellens, Teuns or Bakelants. I feel he might be a lil bit too quick to be a full on GC focused guy. However, this days it seems like full on sprinters are also top of GC so who knows. We'll see tomorrow where he's at.

Huh, Arensman's only 21? I thought he was much older. Maybe i've mixed him up with someone else.

You're not the only one. Arensman seems to have been around for ages. Pretty sure I had him on my CQ team in 2019.

And as I posted above. Soler seems to do best in the rain? Coming from England, I always have an affection for such riders :)

Yeah, him and Hirschi were both missing initially. Rainjackets?
Skjelmose looks like a great talent. Him outperforming Tiberi today isn't a huge surprise, Tiberi isn't explosive and prefers long climbs.
I'm also assuming that a Dane has more experience when it comes to riding in cold and rainy weather than soneone who grew up near Rome. ;)

Being a year older might also work in Skjelmose's advantage.
For now, of course at some point it'll become a disadvantage because he'll get old before Tiberi.

Van Wilder says he's feeling very tired and still suffering from Itzulia, where he went too deep. Let's hope he can hang in there tomorrow.

He's older than Tiberi, and he's gone MIA for quite a while, with a whole bunch of rumours going around as to what happened to him after his win in Pays de Vaud 2018.

What happened to Jack Haig? Yesterday, he was in the front group (and has been throughout the race), but today he was in the Froometto, losing 19 minutes...

i am also very curious about this. Was really anticipating a good performance from Haig here.
