At least Monte Assunção is after Senhora da Graça so it should improve the racing there over the uphill sprints when it was stage 2 a few years back. Really hope Aitor González can nab a stage, maybe Fafe the best opportunity as the break may well go there. And also for Gaudin to be a beast in the stage with sterrato. Hard to see anybody outside of the national péloton appearing in the top 10 of GC, and quite possibly half of them from W52. However, they may yet implode like Efapel did a few years ago.

Can't see Vinhas being able to keep the team in line behind him, biggest lame duck defending champion since Cobo did the 2012 Vuelta with Valverde and a neo-pro Quintana with a free role and Intxausti and everybody else on the squad. The biggest question is going to be whether Antunes drops his team leaders on the climbs and whether Balarcón has his April/May form and falls out with César. Christ, then there's Radio Popular... the reanimated, mummified remains of Rui Sousa and João Benta as leaders. Shoot me now.

Damien Gaudin could pull a Candido Barbosa.
Candido Barbosa, what a legend, they even named my hometown after him (ok, it's "only" The Italian name, but still). :D
The W52 team looks crazy, unstoppable war machines.

That W52 team is insane. They would've smashed the Vuelta if they were allowed to start.

They have enough quality to be a PCT but the available money I think it is around half a million, which is not enough obvieously.. My favourite for the race is Antunes, this has been a fantastic year for him...Vinhas will not be able to lead the team I think... I will pay many attention to João Almeida, one of the biggest talents of his generation (not as a GC contender, ofc).

"There he goes. One of god's own prototypes.
Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production."

I'll refrain from quoting the descriptions of what's in the trunk in the opening scene

Found this on another forum

In interviews, Garcia de Mateos and Brandao (now out of the race) keep making cryptic references to how this year it'll be different because "some things have changed".

Looking at the prologue results it appears to be true. Veloso 12th.
