Jorgenson: "in the car they decided to go for the sprint. We made the wrong decision"
And you know it was soul crushing. He doesn't even factor on Sunday, as I (nor anyone else) see a scenario where he can get away from Mathieu and Pog, be it early or the end.Nah what the hell? That was worse than Omloop 2015. Not even a single effort by Visma to put him under pressure. They were too focused on bringing Wout a morale-boosting victory. They just underestimated Powless so much.
There would have been a less diplomatic way for him to phrase this.Jorgenson: "in the car they decided to go for the sprint. We made the wrong decision"
When you have 3 to 1, you don't even need to attack, you can just repeatedly let gaps open and if Neilson wanted to win, then he would have had to close the gaps. But they did nothing, and they also messed the sprint. So they really did earn that loss. As for Wout, I think he needs to really look at where his sprinting actually is. I believe he is now riding with smaller cranks, and he seems undergeared a fair bit of the time, which results in him spinning out.I can't believe that Visma did not attack in the last 10kms. Even if you can't drop Powerless you are making him work and blunting his sprint.
Obviously it's laughing at Visma first.Me neither. But I guess they laugh at Visma's tactics rather than Wout's demise. At least I hope so, but Wout is for some reason a divisive rider who gets a lot more hate than he deserves.
A couple of my riding buddies, rode with his wife and mom last year, at his Fondo in Auburn. They said they were some of the nicest people they've ever met. I've never ridden with him when he's in town, but everyone I know who has, says he is also a truly nice guy.Nice interview, Powless a super likeable guy.
To be fair, Benoot did leave a gap. Once. That's it.When you have 3 to 1, you don't even need to attack, you can just repeatedly let gaps open and if Neilson wanted to win, then he would have had to close the gaps. I don't see them currently being a factor in the next couple of weeks
He was completely spun out at the end for sureWhen you have 3 to 1, you don't even need to attack, you can just repeatedly let gaps open and if Neilson wanted to win, then he would have had to close the gaps. Love that. Yeah it's obvious from every bit of his manner.A couple of my riding buddies, rode with his wife and mom last year, at his Fondo in Auburn.
