It's got nothing to do with that. This is not how you play it when you're three vs. one. Make Powless work for it, you know that Van Aert hasn't exactly been in the greatest of form.

It's just dumb and they deserve to be mocked for it. No matter how strong you are, you need brains as well.

Well my Haha wasn't directed at WvA but at Visma as a team. And I guess that's true for most of them.
They basically threw away the win by not respecting Powless.

Me neither. But I guess they laugh at Visma's tactics rather than Wout's demise. At least I hope so, but Wout is for some reason a divisive rider who gets a lot more hate than he deserves.

You can be pretty sure that Plugge (no matter how much you hate him) wasn't the one calling the tactical shots. They're pretty strict in who does what, and Plugge doesn't have the role of racing coach.

I think they don't disrespect Powless, or anyone really, but they put way, way too much stock in Wout van Aert. He's their Lord and Saviour. And it continues to bite them in the face... it's also not helping Wout at all. The Belgian press and fans pressure them into it, but he's just. not. good. enough.
