Brennan would have destroyed all 4 of those guys.Brennan would not have lost that sprint...if he were able to keep up with them to that point.
'He's not Lloyd Grossman, but he is the El Grosso threat- the Del Grosso thread'Another good performance by Del Grosso. Where is his thread??
had to dig this up with the thread search function. Glad the forum delivered.Rabofail
Not sure about that. NP was in a front break and managed to not only stay with the JV guys; he provided power when needed. Well deserved win from the strongest guy in that situation. He'll never get that leverage again.Brennan would have destroyed all 4 of those guys.
My Powless story that I’ve put here a couple times; We were at a Tour stage start last year, next to the EF caravan, and Neilson spotted an acquaintance standing next to us. He came over to the barriers and had a loooong chat with them, minutes before the race, and afterward my wife, who overheard the whole conversation, said “he is probably the nicest young man I could ever imagine meeting.”A couple of my riding buddies, rode with his wife and mom last year, at his Fondo in Auburn. They said they were some of the nicest people they've ever met. I've never ridden with him when he's in town, but everyone I know who has, says he is also a truly nice guy.
I think it might have something to do with the circuimstances in which this win is achieved.Powless' comment about this being the biggest win of his life was interesting, given his San Sebastian win. Goes to show the importance to classics riders of this time of the year.

As Blanco said, I think it also had to do with winning as the "underdog" and outsprinting Wout.PCS doesn't lie:

Hopefully nelson powless can do a stannard
Difference being qs actually attacked stannard. Vlab didn't bother because they didn't want to accidentally let someone else win besides wout. So basically wout lacks not only legs and brains but also heart (for his teammates).I wasn‘t able to watch but it looks like QS took Stannard with them to the line.
well saidWatch a lot of interviews in a lot of sports. This is about as brutally honest as you see an athlete get and kudos to Wout for taking the blame. We can't fully contemplate how it is to be in his shoes. When he talks about how important it was for him to win today, it tells you how much pressure he feels to deliver, and his body wasn't capable. Very human moment.
Kung said in his post race interview that he had a mechanical with his chain slipping at the time of the attack, he had a bike change later in the race. Also who let vlab ride off the front? Looks to me like mads was out of position and Kung just dropped the ball.
Visma should fold.
Amusing image, though Alaphilippe from 2020 LBL still takes the biscuit for me.
