This race remains overdue for the first bunch sprint since Coquard gifted the win to Debusschere. Five actual hills, the final at 40k to go, is nothing, and in my view it's a statistical anomaly that Flanders Classics have kept getting away with it here when they very much haven't with the new Omloop route.

It doesn't look like this will be the year. Not even anywhere close. Maybe the wind is the primary reason this year.

But it's weird how Omloop is as sprinty as it is.

Well, Politt is one of the few riders who can really make a difference for Pogacar. It's no wonder they hired him, he's their Nathan Van Hooydonck, the type of rider they were lacking before last year. I don't think it will matter much in the final result though.
