It's true he's not in Giro shape, but nevertheless hardly makes the case he's going to get to a level where he's competitive with Ving and Pog at the top of the GC heap. And I'm a fan, not a hater.

Ayuso was making mistakes on the descent so would make sense if he lost a few seconds there. Plus he lost a little by sitting up early.

It's going to be a very close 3-way race for the overall win on Sunday, and Ayuso may surprise the other two!

What an incredibly weird race. Three mountain stages and three completely different power dynamics. I really feel sorry for Gall who was the most consistently strong climber these last three days and will most likely not even finish this Tour on the podium.
