puncture ruined his race, got it at the worst possible time.

Not to matter, for Boom - imo anyway - this year is all about learning and progress.

see, auscycle still nice even though timmy is mean to auscycle about cadel and bmc!:D

Sure it does. Surely you don't think I was taking that personal or serious?

Just making sure... You sorta responded to me like a Lance fanboy (which I am not).

Anyway Lance "heroic" and "epic" Flanders performance will be the subject of much Armstrong nut-hugging come late June.... Expect those people will predict he takes 5 mins on Conti come Stage 3 (?)

I brought this up earlier in the thread but it probably got swept aside with all the race talk. Didn't Dekker_Tifosi say he would eat his hat if Armstrong finished today and with proof as well?

Or am i thinking of the wrong race?

Nope. You got the right race. I'm NOT looking forward to the nude pictures of The Hog though.

As a matter of fact, Hog, if you are reading this, how about you admit you were wrong and then we can all call it even?

Nah. I know you aren't a fan boy, but I suspect they will be crowing a bit after this performance. And I would say it will be 10 minutes on stage 3.

Langeveld wasn't much worse than Hincapie, or are you going to say Farrar was the better man, while he was always in the group behind? :D

I am still right for today!;)

That early break was neat and Ignatiev looks a good rider, But the Sky team seemed to burn themselves out.
maybe they can learn for next weeks race.

Gilbert is looking better now though, I reckon he can get up for Paris - R.

Man, Sporza has the awesomest coverage. What I got from the interviews, after the finish (some English and some Flemish):

- Canc confirmed that his eyes are on the prize of a career monument sweep. He didn't take the bait of the question about the RvV-PR double, said he'd go for it but didn't look like he meant it. Maybe he was just being polite because he was sitting next to Tommeke and Gilbert.

- Farrar had some nasty gashes on his hand and up his arm from a crash with a Skil rider. Makes his 5th place all the more impressive (although it already was because he was definitely not proven in cobbled races of this distance).

- Lance is a tool. Total, utter jerk. Maybe it's because he doesn't like Sporza or something, but their last question was 'Fabian Cancellara: respect?' and he said 'why, did he win or something?' Sporza: 'you really don't know?' Armstrong: 'no'. Sporza: 'yes, he dropped Tom Boonen on the Muur'. Armstrong (looking like he totally could care less): 'yeah well, good for him; I guess that's what people were expecting', said as he starts riding away.

- Canc and Breschel had the same problem: loose front brake. The mechanics totally dropped the ball, and to make matters worse they gave Breschel O'Grady's bike at first, so he had to switch again. He was totally p*ssed at the finish. Amazing interview - 'yeah, you know mechanics can make mistakes.... (looong pause).... but when they f*ck you up... well, it's not so good then'. WOW.

Ya - Sporza is excellent!

As for LA's comments - to be fair he would have had little idea that Cancellara won - even Breschel didnt know Canc had won.
