Too busy spanking (or ignoring) the 'tards in the clinic...

On these roads I love, I have to say I'm rooting for Boonen.

Fab may be the favourite, but Tomeke's my man. Get that team to cripple the others, and get it within a few K. Unleash the Belgian!

As much as I love Fab, there's gotta be a Belgian in there...

Mind you, on the form Fab's got... who can beat him?

Bring on the Quickies! Belgium, belgium, belgium!

Cancellara has apparently had an accident in training, and broken his left wrist. MISSES FLANDERS AND ROUBAIX

Right. He gifted a World Championship on his home soil. Makes sense.

My post was not serious. I was joking with El Pistolero. And if you thought it was serious, then surely the bit where i said that Canc didnt win worlds because he was scared they would give him a suspencion for mechanical doping would have been more contentious:rolleyes:

No way you wouldn't have started a new thread about this. Too conservative!

I would always love to see Fabu punch the hammer down and win this, but secretly I'm hoping maybe Gilbert will bring it home!...they are both my faves. :)

I don't think its going to turn into a FC ITT. More than likely a traditionally run RvV with a strong selection breaking away; *Devolder, Chavanel, Gilbert, Nuyens, *Hoste, Ballan, Boonen, Haussler etc.. (* injured). If FC gets into anything no one is going to work. Also don't think he's going to TT 200 Km (but with him you never know:)). I am rooting for Boonen, but would love to see Hoste, Ballan or Chavanel do it.

Yeah I'd love Chavanel or Gilbert to do it.

Seems anyone would be crazy to pick outside of Boonen/Cance though. It's just a totally different level.

Welcome to the.... uh.... light side, JMB.

Just read that due to Terpstra's injury, young Van Keirsbulck is riding... I dunno if Qst has the team to cripple the others, really. But that's cool he's riding, I could only imagine riding the Ronde at 20 as a Flandrien.

wow having 1k posts and never posting on the road section . . . now thats weird. tho most people care more about doping then about the sport itself.

anyway is that young kid some sort of young talent? if so learning from boonen would prolly make wonders for him.

Just read about him the other day. 5 months younger than me. That's mindblowing.

El Pistolero is younger than you and he never tires of pointing out that he rides the Muur von something or other every single day;)

With the race being sunday it won't finish until the early hours of monday morning over here, so I still haven't decided whether to watch it to the finish live or to just record it and watch it in my own time. Will definitely watch LBL live though my favourite classic of the year

Oh yeah. Isnt that like, tomorow?

I did think you lived in Madrid though.

Still i would personally much prefer to cycle there. For me cycling is truly fun when there is sun. without it, meh. Much prefer that to northern europe.

If by tomorrow you already mean this Saturday, then yes. No TV, though.

I live in Madrid but I spend some time in the summer in Navarre every year. I only got a bike here in Madrid recently, so the roads I actually know are those north/east of Estella, where the race starts and finishes.

And have you not tried something like Bola, or are you not into the climbing bit?

Anyway, since its your race, you feel like starting the thread for it?

Haha, la Bola? Ok, check the GP Miguel Indurain profile. See the Alto Muru, the second uncategorized climb with a name on it? See how small it is? Ok, now see how absolutely not steep the descend is? My nickname for the climb up that side of the hill is "Mont Ventoux". No sir, I haven't tried anything like la Bola.

(The profile, of course, is not really very accurate)

That's a good book. Gonna read through some before De Ronde + Roubaix.
