If Gilbert manages to win. I'll take a Belgian flag avatar till the Tour de France (evans/gesink bet starts then)

Oh I don't know why I thought someone said Tony Martin could win LBL, lol. I do like him though, he is like a super diesel.. last year at the tour of california it seemed like he did all of the pulling for the entire race, and everyone was just strung out behind him, lol. And I thought, why isn't this guy protected and going for the win?? I'm curious what his height and weight is.

Anyway, our usual kids and glashalfempty-people will have a "i told you so ha ha"-party, when Tony doesn't reach his goal or when he will be dropped somewhere, even when he ends up on 11th. :D

Yeah, I love those!

No, I'm a sore loser, but a gracious winner :p

Except when it comes to dissing Hushovd. That's just too fun not to do. Especially this season.

You forgot the main act. The historic "bringing of the flag" ceremony and hoisting it onto bavarianriders avatar.

Its what the people come to see.

That is seriously epic. Very well done indeed! :p

I like hearing Katusha talk about making the race hard; hope it's hammer down all the way from the Stockeu to Ans.

Time to lay it down:

1: Vino
2: Phil
3: Purito
4: A disappointed ASchleck
5: Nibbles, finally showing what he's got cooking for the Giro

Can't wait for this one.

I'm signing out, of to the family's Easter brunch, where I will be enjoying LBL. Have fun around here, I'll try catching up when I'm back.

Enjoy and may the best man win (obviously Phil :))!

Phille FTW indeed, I won't even be able to see LBL because of Easter dinner :(

The wonderful Rai Sport 2 had highlights of editions as far back as 1957, last night. That year's conditions made Bernard Hinault's 1980 effort look positively balmy.
Great stuff, since it was on directly after they showed the U23 Nations Cup stage over the good 'ol strade bianche!:)

1.86m 76 kg (While racing i asume it's probably more in the 74KG area)
Note that Tony won a Mountain Time Trial at age 20 on the Kandel (11km 8%) He was 78 Kilos back then and produced a Vam of 1650m. Not bad for 20 years and 78 Kilos. So the boy always knew how to climb

Anyway, race day is here and i am exciting and hoping for a good race. May the best man win!

I remember the Tour de l'Avenir where TGBM rode the great climber Tony Martin out of the yellow jersey. On a climb.

De Gendt & LeLay can make things interesting.

Jesús Herrada is about 20, this will be some experience for him. He's a super talent.

Ugh France 3 only starting at 15:20 CET. They really don't care about anything except Tour de France ... but then again I guess it's a public station so they have to show a little bit for everyone.

Really makes me miss Luxembourg where I still had RTBF. Online streams it is then :)
