Christian Vande Velde has a reputation for being a really nice guy who everybody likes. Add him to the list.

I dislike him. he always makes up bs excuses for everything he doesn't win. almost as bad as boonen and devolder, or most belgians

Jens Voigt got a lot of abuse from a proportion of German fans for chasing down Ullrich (on behalf of Basso) in the 2004 Tour. (As seen in the film Overcoming).

Ok he's off the list.

I forgot the Tour 2009 when he sat up like a girl during a sprint.

Sastre got a few FU posts when he said that those crazy Giro stages were way too dangerous on this very forum.

But he probably got some plus points for his comments during the Tour about the constant stopping for everything.

Martin and Purito are just too young and don't have much of a history in peloton.
Joaquim Rodríguez is 31 and has been around for ages... Turned pro in 2001.

Oscar Freire would be my number one. Has his quirks that his teammates joke about but still comes through with the big wins. Even Cavendish likes him.:)

Joaquim Rodriguez, Samuel Sanchez and Daniele Benatti would be my next choices. With Luis Leon Sanchez up there too.

...and Denis Menchov, although Michael Rassmussen would beg to differ.

how the hell is Horner still on the list? Mr. "I'm going to take back everything I've said for the last five years now that Johan's waving a contract in my face"? Mr. "If you're not American, you suck"? Mr. "I'm still ****y cos I didn't get to ride the '09 Tour because Contador insisted that he get at least ONE rider who he thought wouldn't stab him in the back the second he went in front of them"?

Yeah agree. Horner can be flippant. I think he's rubbed people the wrong way. I used to dislike him, now I actually like him - even if he can be a bit brash.

It is a shame Eddy BH is off the list. Everything I hear about him is he's really nice, he's humble, he hasn't done anything to bring attention to himself. But since he is so good the media has done a great job of over hyping him and that has rubbed fans the wrong way.

You almost can't pick a top rider. With the attention they've earned some one inevitably won't like them. So here's my additions:

Koos Morenhout
Christian Meier
Andreas Klier

I don't think anyone dislikes them.

Does anyone really dislike Phillipe Gilbert? Along those lines while he got a lot of stick with Bouyges and Cofidis what about Sylvain Chavanel since joining QuickStep.
