Well yes. Was thinking more of Irish cyclists who lived all their life in England (Martin, Healey, Dunne, Townsend?). Certainly, two of those rode for GB early in their careers. There's more to nationality than place of birth.

I've heard him mentioned before but he's already 30 and his palmares aren't the shiniest, so huge congrats to him!Never even heard about Rory Townsend before! Fantastic victory!! Huge congratulations to him. Always great when a total outsider beats the favorites.

The race is set up so you really need to be an all around rider in future years, guys like Wout and Mads are upping the game.. If you can't climb at all your days are limited..I've heard him mentioned before but he's already 30 and his palmares aren't the shiniest, so huge congrats to him!![]()
If it's nothing more than already expected, then it should rationally be priced in to the time gap allowed.Congratulations to the TV producers - thanks to their motorbikes the breakaway made it. The TV motorbike in front of the three man group on the last kilometers handed them at least five seconds, and I didn't see a motorbike in front of the peloton at the same time. So it's very likely that the deciding factor was this external removal of wind resistance.
Just to be clear @50% of motorcycles are for media at a race, most are race officials and traffic blocks.. Some neutral support and some police often times.. And motorcycles often screw up the distance using rear view mirror to judge how far in front they are from riders. And often turns that are easy for a bicycle are more difficult on a motorcycle, especially 2 up..or if person in passenger position is facing backwards.. It makes things difficult when passenger " helps you " by leaning into the turn and it's a bizarre sensation to have someone on the back who is completely unaware, doesn't care what you are doing to pilot the motorcycle. Many pros that do moto support or people riding on back are highly, highly skilled and are trying to avoid exactly what you are explaining.. And when you crash while riding a motorcycle, dump your cargo or passenger.. It's terrible or when you cause bicycles you are there supporting, to crash it sucks.. But it happens..Congratulations to the TV producers - thanks to their motorbikes the breakaway made it. There are lots of them, thanks to God not all are recorded to video!!
He who dares, wins. There's got to be some reward for being in the break all day!Congratulations to the TV producers - thanks to their motorbikes the breakaway made it. Except in races where the motorbike isn't there for the breakaway. A lottery in other words. Something must be done about it.He who dares, wins. There's got to be some reward for being in the break all day!
