why not. how often has that been done before? well, of course it has to do with team selection procedures also, but still.

together with his team history, you wonder why anybody would bet on him being clean/believable.
mellowjohnny doesn't seem to think he has a burden of proof though.

While Lejaretta doesn't have Hansen's run of triples, his run in the late 80's early 90's is more impressive as there was only 1 week between the Vuelta an the Giro then and he would finish top-10 in about 2 GTs out of 3 per year.

But was Lejaretta competing in a cleaner era than Hansen, I note the differences in GC positions, Although Hansen's are improving.

Hansen seems to have found a way, accidentally or on purpose, of making quite a name for himself despite not being that special on the bike. He is a hard working domestique who can go for wins occasionally, like lots of riders.
Is it possible to do what he has done clean? Possibly but has he done it clean, I doubt it.
If he has done it clean then he really is a very, very good rider, someone who has been robbed of being more chances to race for himself due to others doping.

btw, he broke his sternum at the Giro 2013 and finished it nonetheless. I don't know in which stage he broke it, but is it 'normal' to continue with a broken sternum? (i realize not many will have experience with that, but one can ask)

Hansen riding with a broken sternum seems rather unusual, but DW has a couple of good points.

Personally his links to T-Mobile are what concerns me the most. If that's the case than a lot more riders are under suspicion.

The is, Hansen doesn't do that much racing compared to a lot of other riders in his squad, I think part of the reason he did the 3 in the first place was because Lotto didn't have enough quality to form decent GC squads. They are getting stronger with the Momfort and Gallopin etc.

Hansen is compared with Jens Voigt, and is a fans favorite, I admired Voigt but after reading Tyler Hamilton's book feared the worst of Voigt.

Nevertheless I hope that what Hansen is doing now (the triple GCs every year) can be something that is clean.

Hansen doesn't do many races, but when 3 of the races take 63 days he still does an awful lot of racing days.

While cqranking has the following caveat to there stats, "Only races of category .1 or above and finished races are counted!", Hansen is second on the list of the whole peloton for last year for kilometers raced, only Tom Veelers did more. He was 6th in 2013 and 2nd in 2012

Even focusing it all on GTs, he's still doing 35-36 other days of racing, which is quite a few.

I've already agreed with you on that point, no need to repeat it. I have no idea if any of those guys were top blokes or not although Pantani had a lot of personal problems which could explain any bad decisions he made, good bloke or otherwise.

I have not fractured my sternum, but have had fractured ribs.

Even with something like tramadol, deep breathing would be exceptional painful.

I like Hansen. He's switched on and is doing a good job at marketing himself. Rarely wins, good worker, shows tenacity and grit. Doesn't do the rubbery face dance like some riders - Voekler a classic example.

Mellow got it wrong with the race days.

I'm not sure, the guy seems to have a big interest outside of the pro pelaton and doesn't take himself serious. Of course I'm going to defend a nice guy on here. But I just think that he may be making the most out of what he has and doing it naturally.

Well Adam hasn't exactly come out nowhere and suddenly winnng GT's...

He is probably one of the smartest riders in the peloton, designing webpages and even helping other teams out if tech problems.
