I don't know. On one hand, Purito has never been a consistent climber before the Giro whereas Contador obv is not on the level of his best patterns. Contador can get stronger, but will that be enough to beat Purito? And at last why the man in form of his life can not agaist this Contador? I wouldn't totally rely on criteria of palmares. Nonetheless, voted for the Froome just cos I don't like to be like majority.

Ah, that explains why you are a fan of Andy :D ;)

Someone actually voted Froome? And someone actually voted Valverde?
I'm excited about the coming week - I hope and believe Conti, but also hope and believe J-Rod will give a good run for the money. And come on the Irish! Roche for 3rd place (ok, that might be stretching it, but fingers crossed!)

Vino could still win it.

Woo-hoo! +1 on Other/Vino - always a good option...

I voted Bertie cos I think the long climbs will suit him better than JRod. But tbh I am surprised that the vote doesnt show a more equal result

I don't discount Froome yet, he hold the gap in "mortal gradients", Purito seems in the form of his like but with Contador getting stronger and 4 high mountains stages...

The devil is waiting the hell, it's natural playground

Voted for Contador. I'd put Rodriguez on second and then between Gesink and Valverde for 3rd. Froome is fading faster than I've been expecting before Vuelta.

This vuelta and the coming stages are perfect for Contador and he seems, like he said, to be riding into form and getting better by the day, where as Froome seems to finally be showing signs of fatigue. I expect to see the next few days in the big mountains turn into a battle between Purito and Contador. I'm hoping Purito can stay with Contador in the mountains and finally win a grand tour.

good on ya!

the way the race is evolving i can see me cheering on anyone to beat alberto

it would be wonderful to see someone different winning a grand tour

We've just had Evans, Cobo, Hesjadel and Wiggins winning the last 4. How much more different do you need it to be?:)

a personal choice ............would always be happier to see a new winner
/ for the favourite not to win

only 3 grand tours each year and so many riders!

I voted for Contador. I think he'll be dominant among the contenders this weekend. I'm still hoping for Purito, but I think he'll end up second. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gesink sneak into third.

Still fairly sure Conatdor will win, Purito in second, think the final podium spot could go one of a few ways but I will still say Froome for 3rd but probably a little way off the first two.

Purito hombre, who else? :)
IMHO Contador does not have enough training for this race. Valverde should do better I think.

It will be close between Purito and Bertie. Froome doesnt seem to have the legs after a long season. I still think he will hold Valverde off and finish 3rd.

Gesink will round out the top 5.

Purito
Bertie
Froome
Valverde
Gesink

Gesink is still far in GC with more than 2 minutes. I think valverde might hold him off or even he might even hold off Froome. I still put my money on Bertie before Purito. But it might come down to a dog fight till the end. Purito looks so good up until today. And Valverde seems to be doing fine so far compare to Froome.

1. Contador
2. Purito
3. Valverde
4. Froome/Gesink

It will be either Purito or Contador.. I do however have Contador as a little favour.. lets see.

I also predict that Froome will drop further down. "maybe Gesink can be lucky"

i dint think gesink will podium, very unlikely imo. He would need valv. and froome to suck in the high mountains, and actually be consistently good.

I think ac will win, but I wouldn't mind seeing jrod win.
