I agree. That was a monster tt he did there, considering how slow he went down the mountain.

Will be up there when it matters

Next race, coincidentally, starts with a similar climb in a tt, but with no descent

No surprise at all that Contador lost in the downhill, it was obvious before the start that Contador wouldnt take the most risk downhill so I dont read anything into that other than that was expected.

On the hill tho I did say yesterday I thought he was gonne smash em but tbh I didnt think he would crush Henao with over 40 sec and burried Quintana alive.

This bolds very well for Contador who is not far away from 2014 form, remember in Paris - Nice he was super strong only that cancelled stage who cost him the win duo to limited chances to take time + that silly 4 sec time loose in the sprint! Only that Catalanya he was a little behind but that could be said duo the the cold he got from PN effected him probably a little.

Overall spring, super strong maby not 100% 2014 lvl but very very very good stuff imo.

Fleur he just crushed quintana and henao. The best climbers of the year. He destroyed them, it was better than in 2014 PV.

It's funny how his last racing day of this part of the season finally makes clear how good he really is

I hate to be that guy, but this doesn't mean much when it's Froome he's going to face in July. Contador could have beaten him in all races prior to the Tour and, were I fan, still wouln't get too excited.

There was something strange going on with the coverage. We didn't see Contador at all on the climb and we saw Henao's intermediate time long before we got Contador's. I had totally written him off and assumed he must have been outside the top 10 at the intermediate. Then he looked to be taking the descent so cautiously that I thought he was going to throw it all away. Counting down the seconds as he he came up to the line and then counting the seconds as Henao came in was a nailbiting few minutes! Anyway, very happy to see him get this win which is thoroughly deserved after being so consistent all spring.

Well, it's good to hear he's feeling strong. Hopefully he can grab the win in Pais Vasco

I think only Purito ( if he will be in good form) or Henao can match him on this climb. Anyway, i'm pretty sure he will win PV through ITT rather than mountains
