I think he weared it in the giro 2008 a few times but he only does it when it's raining.

That's a shame since he looks cool with the cap

I posted this in the 'Giro 2013 rumors' thread and I feel I should share it here because it's Contador related but maybe not, so...

I really like this picture of Alberto Contador :p

Yeah sure

"Now Brailsford told me, that all I needed to get out of my contract is to tighten this... reeeeaaaaally tight...."

"Well you tell him that next year, I will slap Wiggi twice and send him back to his mother..."

The woman seems to be infatuated with Ryder. There has to be a 5 second gap between pics and she just continues staring even as he pays her no mind.

For real? Ive been in spain a few times and never got the impression that cycling got much of a response. Pais Vasco i can understand maybe, but the rest?
I was there during the vuelta this year and I was the often the only one interested in watching the race outside of the towns where the racing actually happened. Elsewhere most TV where focussed on foot and when I would ask to change channel people were not particularly jumping for joy.. but generally they did it and i tried to be liberal with my rounds of drinks

I was in france during this year tour de france. I saw the samething that you are talking about. Except in the cities that was hosting the stages and letape... I had to travel to one place to another.. I was thinking that it will be easy to stop in some little city and watch the stage of the day in a bar o caffe.. But there was nobody watching it.

( smile..) In France I don't bother buying drinks to get the cycling channel.. I demand it.. LOL.. But yes/./ Same thing there, really. But how can you blame them? They don't have a winner to cheer Like contador, Purito or Valverde, although Tommy V did get me a few free beers. (well, mostly from relatives )

I was in Spain and Portugal during the 2010 Tour, and in most cities there was a café or a bar where they were watching le Tour. I remember, when chaingate happened I was in a bar in Portugal and the bartender was cheering for Alberto :) And I watched the final TT on a tiny tv in some guy's office

Interesting. I was in Spain last summer during the Tour, and I thought it would be easy to just walk in on a bar and watch the stage. Boy I was wrong.

No bars showed it and at some bars they didn't even know what the Tour de France was! They literally had never heard of it!

Even the day after Luis Leon Sanchez won his stage victory, I couldn't find a single sports newspaper that had the story on the front page!

Hummmm...well I didn't frequent bars looking for races. Just turned on the tv in my room and every news show had a blurb about Worlds in the sports segment after the football of course!

But talking to people in the cafes/museums/plazas the name Contador was an easy way to start a conversation; literally Everyone knew who he was, from Santiago to Barcelona with many stops in between, and then down to Madrid.
