Nice job today by AC. Recovering just in time? Didn't lose any time while other contenders like Barguil and Pinot got dropped.

well, you guys can dream on. The guy still wants to stay in the Tour.Whether he is limping or not. So just enjoys it and suffers with him. I'm glad he didn't read this forum.

Today, it's a lucky day for him. No time lost. Tomorrow he lives to fight for another day. Until then, Vuelta or Olympic can wait. Week 1 isn't over yet. Vamos Alberto.

Today has to be considered a success. He was struggling a couple of times but stayed with the group and no time lost. Hopefully he gets some good rest and is on the mend because the next 2 days will be Brutal.

Forza Alberto! Vamos Campeon!

Nice, but tomorrow the illusion probably stops... :/

So be it. It's normal for someone with injury. Compare to Pinot, Barguil? So for Contador is clearly not "his form". If he stays great. He can join Nibali to fight for stages win. If not, great, prepare for olympics (plus fight will Valverde over leadership of the Spanish team) and Vuelta.

If cyclist would read this forum and took advice from here they would never win anything. People were calling him to quit already after stage 1 but now after stage 7 he is recovering and just getting better.

Very impressed, he was suffering and survived on pure guts :) he will probably get dropped on the next two stages, but he showed the world yet again that he's a tough cookie.

I think the fact that there is no MTF tomorrow could help him. But it's still tough day. It depends on how the other guys will ride it

Contador survived on pure guts.

Pinot emptied his guts.

That's the difference between a champ and the rest.

Hard to say, he was 25th from the GC group two days ago, and today the group was probably around that size at the top of the Aspin

Looking at today, the Tours from 2019 onward look boring already

There's still Aru, disappointing that he doesn't try anything.

But i believe in miracles. Cycling is full of miracles, if somehow his body can recover. It's possible, very unlikely but he can feel better tomorrow.

But the race will be really on sunday, not tomorrow imo

If he was good, tomorrow's stage would be epic

we're all hope so. But that's a wishful thinking. I'm just taking it day by day.

Btw, does anyone know the extend of his injury? What did he injure actually? He said left leg. Reports said his knee, others said his calf. Oleg on NBC interview said that he was all black and if it's other people, they would have abandoned already. So made me thinks that his injury is so severe...

Holy crap...he made it today!

Although we didn't see any real blistering GC attacks or moves, the stage was hard enough and Conti was there at the banner assisted finish.

Perhaps the early damage has been neutralised for now and he can reload for tomorrow. If he can make it to rest day at status quo, then look out, Flo just might get her wish...

Cycling needs contador. I'm sure that he would attacked tomorrow, even today he would attacked to test froome. I think he is very injured. Kreuziger is riding for himself and contador is always in the back of peloton.

Both of his shoulders hurt, he hurt his knees in the crashes as well, he lost some skin on his right shoulder and hip and he has hematomas in his left calf and buttock. This is what we know. I wouldn't be surprised if he has some bruised ribs as well considering the impact in his first crash.

The man himself said it was the calf.
