Nothing wrong with occasionally showing a bit of passion... :) more than 5 posts tends to send many into panic though... :)

So there are still some nice people on here. Thanks :)

Any more from Alberto on the decision to forgo 1 day races this season? Team, points, personal choice?

Personal choice I guess and of course they have other riders who can do well.

Don't know about that, I have yet to find a civilized court that would punish someone so greatly after they conclude he is not guilty of the charges.

Good luck with that

ps don't go there, you'll have half the forum jumping on you lol

Lets get this back on track...

So... Will Contador attack the first time up Alpe D or will Andy with Contador following, or will they only grind Skys faces on the hairpins once.

and here are some more s s's and some more ' ' 's. Put them where they are needed. :)

I think first attack will be on Ax3,it will be first test against Froome(Alberto doesnt know what to expect). The big 'full gas' attack should be on Ventoux with dropping all, stage victory and pistol shot:)

Not guilty? He had a prohibited substance in his blood.

CAS verdict says he did not take the substance to enhance his performance.

It's like prosecuting someone for murder when he acted in self-defense.

I don't see the analogy, but anyway. You're not allowed to have clenbuterol in your body, one way or another. Too bad if you do.

You're not allowed to take someone else's life, too bad if you do.

That's a very black and white opinion you have about the legal system. I hope you never accidentally run into some trouble then.

Fact of the matter remains that CAS prosecuted someone who they didn't think was guilty. Find me one civilized court that does that.

It's ridiculous: 95% of the people who watch cycling prob don't even know that.

Anyways Contador couldn't provide sufficient evidence that he was not guilty and the rules laid down that he was assumed to be guilty without them actually being able to prove that he was guilty of using doping.

If he would have gone to the ECHR he would have won the case 100%. This goes in against against the presumption of innocence which is pretty much the foundation of each state but which cycling completely ignores.

I guess Contador didn't wanna bother, besides it would have taken months, maybe even years.

Nice :D

I have not studied the route (I know, HUGE flaw) but is Ax3 the first major mountain. It would fit with Contadors normal approach. Just hit them as early as you can and leave them fighting for second.

Same approach SKY used this year. Gonna be fun to watch Rogers pulling Contador, Froome, Wiggins and every other contender for the overall victory.

wait, wait. Isn't CAS an arbitration court? presumption of innocence is not the consideration at that point. Contador had already being "cleared" by his national federation when UCI brought the case to CAS who had to decide if UCI objections were valid. They did and Contador at that point choose to not pursue the matter in other venues. I am not even sure he could have. We know the rest and can't change it. To me it will remain a case of being victimized

I can't see anything other than tempo up the Alpe first time up:( Maybe a bit of softening up with team mates flying up the road. The 2nd time up will see the fireworks:D

Balls out attack down off the Sarenne, Abandony left floundering.....:D :D

Attacks will start on the Paliheres to soften things up Ax3 not much of a finish but nice all the same don't see big margins. Ventoux will be immense if someone goes early, get CAS in the break! Semnoz might be brilliant but it'll probably be over by then

CAS can (and did) consider a case of first impression, so they weighed the facts of the case and not simply whether there was procedural/substantive errors made by RFEC during the initial proceeding. Quirky, yes, but those are the rules of this particular road.

Do all of the riders have the red/pink and yellow bands on their jersey or is it just Contador. I actually think it is a good idea that Grand Tour winners can have something to identify them as former winners on their Jerseys. Roche will have the Irish Tricolour on his sleeves also i assume?
