it's humor. something you must lack
there's some difference between funny posts and inappropriate ones. That didn't make anyone laugh.
Deleted ofc.

To the others: No point in quoting such posts. It's useless for me to delete his when there are people who quoted it. I'll delete those too.

Is your mod job description looking after Ryo's san post? :p :D

I disagree. Watching Ryo display the most brash " I just dont give a ****" attitude is the height of comic relief for me. Glad to see he wasn't banned so i can get another laugh in for this month.

Also watching you realize that by applying for mod youve become Ryo's babysitter:p

1, I'm not trying to pin you.
Anyway, your post had a message of superiority of final result.

2, I was sarcastically trying to point out that you didn't give any reason for Andy's win being "immeasurably more beautiful".
Overly subjective questions don't demand detailed explanations. The Tour is a main metewand. That's it.

One could argue Contador risked more as Andy had his brother still in the main group and that Contador had tried on every previous MTF to drop his main opponent and the fact that one month ago he was still serving a quite controversial ban.
Ban can not be a justification. Who is blame for ban? Contador himself. I don't understand what Frank has got to do with that. A rider is responsible for his result. Good team perfomance can brighten the situation in a way, but not a lot. Schleck risked his own chances entirely. Moreover, if he had been caught, he couldn't have been even in top-5 in Paris.

If Evans had a decent team back then, like Sky last year, Andy would've been pulled back easily. Instead of having 3-4 guys in front of him Evans had to start chasing all by himself in the headwind of the Galibier. Contador would've never taken more than 20-30 seconds on Froome/Wiggins on the toughest climbs, making it impossible for him to win the Tour. An attack like Schleck did would be suicide nowadays, it's impossible to stay on the front for more than 1 climb with a train like Sky had last year.

So what you're basically saying is that wining a grand tour today will only happen if you can time trial since attacks on the mountains will all be neutralised by trains. What a shame and what a boring style of racing.

You know what would truly be amazing? If Contador, Schleck, Sanchez and maybe valverde and gesink can create their own train by attacking Sky and going off the front on a very steep section of a climb. I think contador and schleck working together to put time into froome/wiggins will catch the sky train by surprise.

What will make this season a succes for Contador. Just wondering what you guys think it would take. He has been build up a lot, will he be able to do anything but dissapoint.
Only the Tour victory.
He himself declared it like a main goal, Saxo strengthened the team just for that purpose, the route is favorable...
Everything less than the Yellow jersey will be serious fail.

Thats what I thought, but people keep talking about doubble GTs and what not. Personnally I would settle with him winning the Tour and be satisfied.

apart from alberto's climbing prowess, another advantage he has over froome who many think is his main rival, is that he knows what it takes to win a grand tour or the tour de france in particular. Alberto has experience whilst froome is relatively new to the business of being a leader in the tour.

Yes, still lacking racing fitness.
There's enough time to get it back.
Also, he has a GT in his legs after the pause, so lack of racing fitness shouldn't be an issue.
The Tour victory is the only measure of successful season for Contador. He'll race after the Tour only if fails at it.

How can you fail if you do everything in your capacity to win it?

Making a mistake which costs you a race you would have otherwise won would be a failure, but not winning a race where you're not the strongest man can never be considered a failure.

When you have a goal, you can succeed and you can fail to achieve it.
Contador has done it before, has capacity and clearly intends to do it again, so we can speak about success and failure.
