Contador never had the flu. They announce ten days after T-A is finished that contador caught the flu from that race. You don't come down with the flu ten days after...ridiculous.

I for one am thrilled we are not seeing the contador of 2007-2009. Would make everything a farce if we did.

I dread a sudden improvement in July however.

Hm... i don't know about that. he could get the virus lingering while in T-A. And finaly came down with it. You could get knocked out by flue for two weeks if it's that bad. Right now, I'm just going to take it as is. We'll see how he is doing at Dauphene or if he enters any other race before that.

Big Doopie  he finished T-A on the 12th, GP Nobili on the 14th. He didn't just get the flu the day CI started. He tweeted on the 17th that he was ill and who knows maybe he got it one or two days earlier. That is not weird at all.

Doesn't look like Berto

Edit: It's Rory Sutherland, Alberto is the tiny bit of blue and yellow behind the euskaltel rider :)

That's a good and reassuring result for Contador, it was worrying not seeing him able to attack at all in Pais Vasco. Hopefully he can improve from here on out.

Euskaltel close to their first win. Urtasun's team mate looks gutted.

Today, the 171 kilometer long Spanish one-day race, Klasika Primavera where Team Saxo-Tinkoff Spaniard, Alberto Contador demonstrated fantastic will power and attacked on the penultimate climb. Unfortunately, he was caught 50 meters from the finish line but finished third while teammate, Rory Sutherland sprinted his way to sixth place:

“Alberto was doing a great job out there after a very tough week of racing in Pais Vasco that finished yesterday. But quite unimpressed, he went out there and launched an attack where only two riders were able to respond. Unfortunately, he was swept up on the very final meters of the race and had to settle with the bottom step of the podium,” said sports director, Steven de Jongh.

Rui Costa (Movistar) won the race.

I hope he wont ride the Ardennes.

Would prefer to see Kreuziger in the leaders role with a Saxo team behind him, with CAS, Rogers and Roche as jokers they can play out. I think could be a more interesting combination to watch, besides they need to collect some value points besides AC´s.

I didn't say it was did I, I said hopefully he can improve from here. He didn't attack at all in Pais vasco though, so attacking here is a good sign.

Kreuziger will line up for Amstel + FW based on Saxo web. I haven't seen any race for mic rogers. Is he riding? Is he targeting Romandie? I see kreuziger and roche got more race than him.

I think Roy can be a dark horse here, and looks like he is in a very good form

It has been taken into account it is a significantly weaker field than Pais Vasco but he definitely looked stronger here and himself and Inxausti worked well together out front. Euskaltel did a lot of work chasing from behind and were the ones who helped bring it together at the end.

Thanks, yes much weaker field but he definitely looked like he was having some fun instead of simply hanging on for dear life with gritted teeth. Hopefully it is onward from here :)
