OMG ROTFL....I don't think like that :)

I hope he stays in cycling; I'd like to see him on the broadcasts even if he isn't racing. Don't want him to just disappear like Indurain et al who you only see on a podium once in a while.

Yes I agree, but on the other hand if he doesn't want it I can understand that. 15 years in cycling might be more than enough for him.

Looks like Riis knows what he's doing. His strategy has never been to have his riders at 95% all season like Sky. Instead he focuses on peaking for the right races. Both Rogers and Paulinho were crappy 2 months ago, but now they have improved immensely as the Tour approaches. The same will be the case with Contador.

Now that would be the worst possible scenario for me. I'd rather see him go to a new team set up by JB with LA as DS.

Majka will continue to progress and will become the new Alberto. I know it. I just feel it.

Hate to burst your bubble...Majka=good. Can not be "the new Alberto" because there is NO OTHER. Long live/ride/win..... the one and ONLY ALBERTO.

Yea i always wondered. Why did Contador wait at the last km and then attacked again directly, That was strange.

Perhaps Nibbles didn't understand why Contador didn't take a turn, but I do.

Anton was up the road and not at threat to his (Contador's) overall and he was making Nibbles do all of the pace making and putting more time into Scarponi. There was no reason to help Nibbles to possible give him a chance to gain bonus seconds (or in the unlikely event, Contador cracked, gain more time on him). Then attack in the final kilometer and get away for the bonus seconds. It's a bit ruthless, but I can totally understand Contador's approach.

Do you think it lacked respect?

By and large both Anton and Nibali were no threat in GC equally.

I think Contador hit the ceiling on that stage a little bit. He realized he couldn't win the stage that he disliked, fan atmosphere was not for him as well, to put it mildly. So he decided to annoy Nibali at least. That attack had zero emulative sense in terms of GC. So to speak 'yeah, today I can't win, but listen up, little Shark, don't even dream of winning stage'

I'm not talking about that.

He attacked at some point (at the end) but then in the last km nibali catches him almost again and contador goes then again.

Why was that? Why did Contador slow down?

IMO, not at all. Actually watching the highlights now, Contador wasn't even sitting on his wheel. He was effectively riding to the right of Nibali. More to the point, I suspect Contador wasn't interested in riding down Anton (I wouldn't call it a gift per se, but a conscious decision not to contest the overall/help drag Nibali up the mountain to give him a chance for the win).

EDIT: The attack at a little over 1KM to go netted him 8" plus whatever the difference between bonifications. Maybe there was a psychological component to it, but it would only be a guess on my part.
