I was thinking if we should have a discussion about the team for next year, which new riders we would like to see and who to go etc. or it

Tinkof isn't the problem, i doubt Contador gives any ****s about him.

It's all about Alonso, they're really good friends (based on reports). Why not make a spanish team that will get insane promotion and will be build completely around you without any concerns. And the boss is a good friend of you and a worldstar.

Contador should be a fool to not do it imo.

If anything it may look like Tinkoff is prepearing for ACs departure in a year or 2 by signing Sagan as the future undisputed leader, (with Kreuziger chasing a top 5 in some gts ofc)

Not necessarily for the departure, but certainly making a backup having in mind the age of current GT contenders.
And I don't think Tinkov will be satisfied with just a strong cobbled classics rider. His ambitions are related to entire season with the tour like a pinnacle. He'll soon be looking for a GT prospect.

I guess I can understand a possible desire to "go home" to a Spanish formation, but Tinkoff has such deep pockets. What does Contador lack there in terms of salary, teammates, support staff, equipment, and race access that is likely to be bettered or even equaled anywhere else?

As for Sagan being an undisputed leader, I just don't see it. I don't think he has the chops to win big stage races, there's just something missing from the equation. He might have the physical potential, but he doesn't have the character to be a leader, I don't think. While, to be sure that's something that can be developed (as we've seen with Quintana), his personality is a big hindrance to such development, I think. No, I believe Tinkoff wants Sagan because he imagines he can cover himself with glory using both GC and Points jerseys (if not at the same races).

Tinkov goes shopping spree: So many stars we buy

The pockets are deep and ambitions are sky high in the charismatic owner of cycling team Saxo-Tinkoff, Oleg Tinkov.
Should not it already be clear, it will soon become evident when Oleg Tinkov embarks on the market for riders under contract for next season.

Tinkoff-Saxo-owner has made no secret of the fact that the now former Danish cycling team will again be the world's best, and it requires the purchase of the top shelf, which Tinkov are ready to pick from.
- We will definitely come to buy 2 to 3 stars that can help Alberto (Contador, ed.) Next year in the Tour. And maybe one that can help Rafal (Majka, Ed.) In the next Giro. We are definitely in the market, and we are quite active, says Tinkov to VeloNews.... article on tv2.dk

He is also going for EBH according to the article.

Tinkov shouldn't even put to much hope in Sagan....he has been very beatable this year. When does Degenkolb's contract expire?....he is the new and upcoming cobble champion.

This is a great comment from his interview with velonews. :D

“I think the budget we can tell you like in September. Now it depends who we buy. Maybe [Chris] Froome is available tomorrow.”

Tinkov laughed again.

“Then we buy Froome and put him on Giro d’Italia next year and Alberto will be winning [the] Tour and Froome is Giro d’Italia.”

Sagan in a tour squad will just be a burden to AC or any other GT rider.

I hop tinkov gets EBH though. thats a massive talent wasted in the sky train.

There is a lot of talk about Sagan to Saxo but something tells me its not going to happen. But there were other riders I think would be more interesting projects to sign, riders like Kwia and Stybar, they want to strengthen the classis team, there you go, and I am also sure Riis could mold a rider like Kwiat into anything, even a gc rider with potential to win it.

Sagan is a sure horse for victories, but I think there are more exciting prospects out there to.

Now Tinkoff implied they would or could use some better help for Majka, suggesting they have plans to make him a permanent captain no 2.
I am not sure he has what it takes, if everything plays to his favor, with the right race profile then he can podium, but I doubt he can ever win a gt.

Question is if they should go for something else, like a Betancur, I know Riis is interested, he talked to his good friend Lombardi who had seen some tests of Betancurs and they had showed some impressive watts, and it looks like Betancur could use a more streamlined and structured training approach, he seems a bit unorganized to me.

Other riders I think they look at could be a Simon Geschke, what he shows is impressive, and he can do everything, TT, climb, sprint and do classics.
I would love to see a Demare or Kittel to, but with AC it wont happen while hes there. Wiggins is even in play...according to Oleg, I hope its a dead fly...

Will be very interesting to see what the team comes up with.

EDIT: whatever any of them are free for signing I dont know, it was just thoughts on the long run.

No I haven't, and I've already made it clear countless times I want Contador out of Tinkoff-Saxo asap.

Well, maybe I just dont read so much of what you write, I never saw that, so maybe I can ask you why? What is wrong with Saxo now?
