You also get some riders peaking at a younger age. I have a feeling we have seen the best of Contador but it's not based on anything. Just a hunch. He is expected to win the Vuelta but the Tour may be a different story although it sounds as if the route will suit him if the rumours are correct.

I think you're right, people here are predicting way too much based on past successes.

The theory that you can't ride two grand tours back to back at a high level I also believe is going to be proved false by Froomey.

Past successes and age? He won the Giro last year (on the road) and he is only 29, and GT riders top in the aerly 30s usually.

I think Froome will do well in the Vuelta, but I think Bertie will do better.

No, you don't think he is right, you hope he is right.

Nothing points towards Alberto being on the decline.

yes you right, if history taught us anything, then it is riding 2 grand tours back to back is not a problem, especially when so many have tried and so few have succeeded.
So it´s real funny you talk about other peoples predictions and successes based on the past, when Froomey not even have tried to ride 2 in one and same season ever, not to mention back to back.
You have a weird sense of logic.

Contador already proved the theory of that you can't ride 2 GT back to back on a high level false.

If he didn't have so much bad luck in tour 2011 he should haved ended 3th. Still pretty high level but not his normal level of course.

And I still think Contador can win the tour and giro in the same year. For sure the vuelta and the tour in the same year.

Really?

Wow, then I better start play the lottery with that kind of luck.

I thought it was going to be something like Alberto having a flower on his jersey, or mentioning the support of his Utrecht fangroup, something special and personal, not "Alberto was smiling";)

He may not be on the decline yet but others are improving. I like watching Contador and I don't hope he will fail.

He looks bored, but the reason of that is mentioned by Publicus.
Actually I expect any rider to be bored during the Eneco Tour.

Very true but the Tour of Romandie this year has to also be in that category at least from a spectator's point of view.

Not importent if he's the best or not. He makes bike racing exciting, that's reason enough for me to cheer for him.

Seeing how easy LaFlorecita get exited when it comes to Alberto, then I thought it must be something easy, but I´m still not so sure I hit all 3 or she´s pulling my leg :D

Except his tour 2011 and San luis 2012 perfromances, i.e. all we have to go on since June last year.

I think we have seen the best of Contador, I'm not saying he won't win any more grand tours because he can still do that evern at 90% of what he was before, but I don't think he'll dominate grand tours as he did. That is my opinion, you are entitled to yours. I don't hope he will do any better or worse as a result, I am merely a fan of exciting bike racing. I would never wish misfortune on any cyclist.

I also disagree that AC has proved before that you can ride 2 GTs back to back at a high level, because although I won't bring the discussion down to that level, we don't know whether those performances were all 'true'. However much you fanboys/girls adore him, he is a confirmed cheat, for me, that is a taint on his character but also puts a blemish on his past successes especially the Astana and Discovery ones, in my opinion.

We'll see how he goes, but you lot should accept that not everyone is as biased in his favour as you might be.

If AC smokes Froome in the mountains I will stand corrected, but I predict it will be tight, and AC may well come out second best.

In fact, if he knows he will get beat in the TT's by Froomie, he will attack that much more :D

Aye or the other way around. Either way it should be very exciting. Bertie and Froome dog, will look to exploit any weakness shown by each other.

Netserk have you ever posted about anything other than Alberto Contador? I bet you didn't like it when he got married though.

No it's not an opinion.

Contador his last GT where he could go all out was giro 2011, only 14 months ago. And he dominated that like it was nothing, best Contador untill now.

And that was already after the "steak"-affaire.

So on what do you base yourself that Contador won't be the same anymore as he used to be? he's only 29.

It's obvious you don't like him.

Some of us are fanboys ok, but fact is that Contador hasn't lost a GT since '07 except the tour 2011 and won so many other races meantime. We fanboys have reasons to level him so high.

So once again based on what do you think Contador won't be the same again?

Now is the time he's going to hide himself under "my opinion"...

If you must know then I actually post most about Boonen ;)

And nice little tactic: Start with posting a lot of cr@p showing your (lack of) knowledge about pro cycling, and when some calls it you go defensive and personal:rolleyes:

That´s OK, would you also bet 1000$ on it?...No?... is what I thought!
