you read this and you see:

NO BROKEN TIBIA, STOP LYING.JUST 2 WEEK TO STOP BIKE.

CONTADOR SAID: MAYBE I WILL HAVE JUST 2 WEEKS OF TRAINING AND THAT IS A LITTLE. Well, I think that according the shape of The Tour, two weeks is enough to be at a good level, but well, yes, it is not enoght to GC with people as Quintana, Froome, Purito,...

Well, but he has 1 mont training well, SO, IT IS A GOOD PREPARATION, AND HE IS SHOWING THAT, I CANT SEE THE DIFFERENCE of PAST DAY WITH the stage in england.

That's quite the accusation. A deception that would involve a great number of people including medical professionals. You're got to be holding some personal issues when it concerns Contador for you to make such strong negative statements. What would one have to gain from such a deception? It just doesn't make any sense at all what your proposing. All the riders that witnessed his crash said that it was quite violent and that they were surprised that he continued for such a long period afterwards.

what a thrilling ending!!!! For someone with fracture shin, Alberto did GREAT today. I expected him to get dropped.. surprise..surprise. He and Froome are in the same fitness more or less. This is shaping up to be an unpredictable and exciting Vuelta for sure. If Alberto ride to form, he will be competitive comes on third week. Ow well, don't want to get ahead of myself. He did past the first test with flying colors. Still long way to go. Hope his shin.. holding up. *finger crossed*

He must be shore every night. That's gonna be annoying discomfort.

Behold people, this is the only time you will ever see Contador happy during an interview after getting third somewhere

I just hope today's stage won't take too much out of the injury....he was hurting badly but his heart is the strongest, that can't be debated.

Contador was incredible today !. Just shows the class of the man. Like his Manager said, there are a lot of pretenders in cycling !.

All these time bonuses could play into the hands of Valverde ultimately...but Froome could gain big time in the ITT

If Contador's knee stays healthy and his form improves there is no stopping him in the third week!!:D

Grande Alberto!!! He has passed the initial test with flying colors :). He just needs that knee to hold up, gain more fitness, recover well and get some high end explosiveness. He can possibly win this thing!

He was grinding more than dancing but did it with square shoulders. No favoring that I could see. He is such a road warrior and so talented that even without proper preparation he still rises to the top like cream. The top 10 is already the cream of this race!

Phew Impressive Ride Alberto!

BTW as far as putting people on ignore. Well I'm in my golden years and frankly have no time left to waste :). If someone quotes a post of someone I have on ignore I'll skim and if it seems useful I'll go back and View Post. Best of both worlds actually at least for me.

Alberto has heart and talent. Day by day, this was miles from his Tour form but hopefully he'll get better .
After all he's been through, this is absolutely terrific.

Impressive, much stronger than he let on but then you could never take assessments of strength seriously, coming from Contador.

I bet taxus is absolutely fuming.

Dawg is doing nicely so he should be somewhat fine. :D

He certainly performed much better than I thought, but this is definitely not his best form of his life like he claimed

He came from an injury, he expected just to fight for stages at the end :D:rolleyes:, so he is expected to improve a lot at the end, so he will win easy the Vuelta, becouse he didnt lie.

Of course he is not in the numbers of 2009, of course, that is another Contador, but I mean Contador of this new era, yes, he is with a good preparation for this Vuelta, the same of his rivals. Valverde could go down a little, and he and others riders could improve a little...

Today I am surprised about Purito, maybe too hot for him these days, but he needed to get time and bonus today to have his chances clear. Righ now he has really difficult to win.

Indeed I agree.

Meanwhile I've been waiting to hear the eerie similarities to 2012 from you :) Or are we in new territory now?

It's going to be fascinating to see what happens in the third week, will Contador get stronger as he usually does or will he fade because of leg issues?

If he was in TDF form he would have smoked everyone (except Froome) on this climb.

No, he would have smoked Froome also. And that other fella who won it.

Judging by how he rode today after all he went through, fractured tibia + 2 weeks without any sport ( bad for muscular mass) - probably it wasn't exaggerated when Riis said he had the best form ever in his time with Saxo which includes the 2011 Giro.

It seems like it's getting harder to find new ones
At this point, there has been 3 different leaders (Castroviejo - Valverde - Rodriguez in 2012) and Castroviejo - Valverde - Mathews this year.
Also Valverde has won the first mountain top finish (he won at arrate in 2012 which was the 1st MTF) .
That's all I have for today :D

Also the 4th and last rider who wore the leader's jersey in 2012 was AC, my prediction is that the next rider who'll take the red jersey will win the Vuelta. :p

Also there are other common points, extremely high temperatures in the first week which was not the case in 2013.
And just take a look at the GC field, purito, bala, ac, froome, quintana, gesink... they were all here in 2012 :)

So if he rides decently (by his standards) in TT Froome is wiining Vuelta? I still hope iots going to be Contador.
Although if Froome wins he might decide to do a Giro to get all 3 GTs. Froome riding in a snow? That would be something to witness :D
