Good question. Let the questioner answer first is always polite I think..what do you think after he has the double??

I would think go for it, he has a good chance as Purito is doing the TDF. What sort of riders will do just the Vuelta? Maybe if Aru did the Giro Vuelta he could be fresher than Contador. I can not see many being fresh for the Vuelta. I would like to see it, i think Giro/TDF is more than enough. Imo if he does the Giro/TDF he is close to being best GT rider ever(maybe add another Vuelta). In this day and age it is alot harder to dominate yet he as made it look easy. really just last year he was not the best.

Also just say he goes for all 3, do you think that would mean only the TDF in 2016? Would'nt doing the Triple then Giro in 2016 maybe burn him out? As that would be like 5 GT's in a row really consisdering he did the Vuelta this year. See no one really know's as most GC riders do not do 3 GT's in a year. I would think he would rest a little in 2016 if he completed 3GT's in 2015?

If he really did 3 gt's this year (though he probably won't) than my guess is he wouldn't do the Giro in 2016.

There is no way Majka slaves for Contador in Vuelta even if he wins the double (won't happen). He will have free role in worst case scenario or screw team orders and go somewhere else in 2016. So pretty much everyone will be there in 2015 for Vuelta

It would be amazing alright. But to be honest (and I know a lot of people will disagree) I don't even think the double is doable anymore let alone a legendary treble. If anyone can do it (the double, i mean) It's Contador but I still have massive doubts. If he stays fit and in good form we'll soon know if the era of multi GT wins in a single season is long gone or if it's still a possibility.

I don't think it's very likely either, but I'm glad he's giving it a shot. And I'm happy to see him race whatever. Every race is better for having him attend because of his attitude and competitive spirit.

What worries me most is just how much motivation there will be for a smaller objective in 2016 and onward. I guess he'd like at least one more TdF if he doesn't do it next year, but after that..?

As much as you won't like it, he will slave for Contador in the Vuelta if it comes to that. He is loyal to the team and will ofc obey team orders. His contract runs to the end of 2017.

If he fails to win the TdF next year you can bet what his goal for 2016 is.

Highly doubt it. He already had to change his plans this season and that was after already being a leader in one GT, and voiced his displeasure over that. He won't do it 2nd season in a row, especially if it means not having a chance to ride a single GT for himself, after most successful season in his career, contract or not.

& he might realize that if Alberto wins all 3, he'll retire on the spot which would make Majka the sole GT leader the year after :D

Either he'll focus on Giro-Vuelta, I guess, or he'll retire

If he wins the double, but not the treble next year, he should go for Tour-Vuelta in '16 so he has all three doubles.

Thanks for posting Dr. Juice!

Speaking to the BBC at his team Tinkoff-Saxo's training camp in Gran Canaria, Contador admitted the crash was his fault but denied he was trying too hard to make up time lost earlier in the race.
"A lot of people have spoken about the crash and said things that aren't true," he said.
"What I will say is you've got to concentrate for every second on the bike or you won't win the Tour.
"At that moment, I relaxed, I looked ahead, saw the road was clear and reached back into my pocket to get something to eat. That's when I hit something in the road, my bike jumped and I lost control."

QFT. You tell 'em Berto!:)

Nice :) don't agree with the top 10 but the voters nailed the 1st spot!

Alberto Contador’s entire career has been built upon comebacks. Early on, he recovered from a cerebral cavernoma to become the world’s pre-eminent stage race. He marked his return from his doping suspension in 2012 by winning the Vuelta a España.

And, after a listless 2013 campaign, Contador returned to his previous levels by being the 2014 season’s most outstanding road rider, as voted by Cyclingnews readers. The Spaniard won almost a third of the votes to beat Tour de France winner Vincenzo Nibali and world champion Michal Kwiatkowski to the honour.

In true Contador fashion, there was a comeback even within the comeback season. His hopes of a third Tour de France title (his 2010 win was revoked following his Clenbuterol positive) were dashed when he fractured his tibia in a crash on stage 10 and his season, too, seemed to have come to a halt.

Remarkably, Contador was back in the saddle in time for the Vuelta a España little over a month later, and with some defiance, he went on to see off the resolute challenge of Chris Froome to carry the red jersey to Santiagio de Compostela, his third win in his home Grand Tour.

:)

I wonder if Alberto has ever seen this thread :p

i'd bet he has. And if he indeed has, it must have given him a big smile to see how much support he has here, with one supporter standing out of course ;) Along with that thought, i'd like to believe that he is a regular reader :D :D
well, maybe reader is too strong a word...not sure how much English he reads, but he could still come here to look at pictures...lol

You do such a great job here LaFlorecita.

I concur.

I don't think it is just a question of popularity though - I might like him, but I wouldn't have voted him that in 2013. Yes, it helps to be popular and preeminent, but he's popular for a reason, after all.

I think AC knows and appreciates he has a lot of supporters. I also believe him when he speaks about feeling some degree of responsibility associated with that.

Yep, that is a nice pic, LaFlo. Is it T-A stage 5? Boy, I loved that day.
