well if you read what Riis said... looks like they bank on contador's form is better?

Riis: “We were looking forward to [a re-match after Ruta del Sol], but that’s how it is,” said Bjarne Riis, Alberto Contador’s team manager at Tinkoff-Saxo.

“Contador’s most feared rival is Froome, no doubt about that. He knows how good Froome is. We still don’t know how good Nairo Quintana can be, or how well Vincenzo Nibali will go with these guys when they are at their best, but we know how good Froome is, and how good he can be.”

Looking at Alberto today, if Froome was there, there won't be anything remotely close to rematch whatsoever.

I don't know, maybe Froome was really sick too and didn't lie about it for whatever conspiracy reason. I don't think he would've been as good as he was in andalucia either because of that.

Props to @albertocontador for stopping at line, in a blizzard, to talk to media; Nibali has refused to speak to press for 2nd day in a row

You never know. Perhaps Froome"got sick," because they realized his engine was too reved up for the moment.

I can't see some of these guys getting much better. Nairo was impressive, but he has raced in South America already and then had altitude training. I don't think the Euros are quite up to that. We will see.

I'd say that this first round has nothing to do with the summer.

you said similar things in 2013 though
I don't think I did. I made loads of criticisms of AC but I don't recall calling curtains on his career. For instance I said he was no longer "The Great One" but I never said he couldn't reclaim that.

That said, I'm just being facetious at the moment anyway and using it as an excuse to quote a song I like. I don't think Contador's career is over. He is still favourite for the Giro and from everything I have seen my estimation is still that he will be flying high in May and July. That said after 2013 one can't be totally surprised if he does end up kinda sucking and today was a bit of a warning for him certainly.

Just watched the race, if Pozzovivo, Yates, Pinot and Contador had been prepared to work together, then they would have been closer to Quintana and Purito and Uran would not have got back

2013 is not only a curse for contador but also for his fans. Anything remotely bad immediately goes back to that nightmare year of 2013 lol

Let's forget andulcia, let's forget that he destroyed froome. Let's forget that such a thing never happened in 2013. Let's forget that were possible clinic reasons why contador was bad in 2013 but that he was the same as before in 2014.

Name 1 guy that won T-A and ended up winning giro and tour. You'll prob go way back, won't you?

I agree with hitch though, i'm a fan too and seeing today reminded me of 2013, but there are many factual reasons that can explain this. I'm going with that, not with that nightmare.

I am worried by that head tilt, it certainly looks like in 2013.

The head tilt is a sign he's digging deep/struggling

I could have told you he was struggling today without seeing the head tilt ;)

He is still too fat. Needs to loose another 2k.

Sure, but he can't be fatter than in Andalucia

Edit:

His legs look pretty lean (leaner than in Andalucia). Fat seems to stick better to his belly ;)

Listen, he can't be razor thin now sweety or else what will he have for May and July?

I know.

I just meant, it can't be the cause of his lack of form (because he was better in Andalucia and fatter)
