What does this mean?

If top form is a once in a life time thing you're not gonna see it so prepare to be disappointed.

Do we know each other?

Not really, you appear to be describing 'the best form of their life/career'. Top form is a moving target based on whats possible in the now.
Isn't that a peak?

Having the advantage of his whole team present near the front at the moment they spoted the breakaway group ahead, and being among the first and only few to spot the breakaway, which resulted in all the boys receiving the radio message "full gas now, give it everything" might have aided the situation a little too. :)

Indeedly, and with his final 'team mate' Tiralongo up the road to give that last wee bit of help, it was a masterclass:)

'a peak' is just a highpoint (can be many), 'his peak' would commonly equate to 'best so far' or 'best ever' after retirement, similar to 'at >rider<'s peak'. Generally an athlete reaches a point at which physiological form + mental ability combined are at their most advantageous for a given sport, or 'their peak' in sporting parlance.

As suggested by an earlier poster however, you might wan't to discuss disambiguation in a more appropriate thread?

What's the difference between top and peak.
According to you, top is a highpoint too. Which is higher? When a top becomes a peak, or is it vice versa?
