LaFlorecita said:hmm? I don't think Alberto himself cares about the number of GTs he has officially won. At least not enough to continue after 2017.
Red Rick said:I hate it when I'm joking and people react like i'm dead serious.
was probably lame though, even for my standards
LaFlorecita said:Wut??
What I think is depressing, are people who are still crying about those 2 GTs he lost. Will it help to repeat how frustrating and sad and annoying it is every few weeks? Will that give him back those wins? No! So get over it.
I am not the one posting the depressing crap here.
I wouldn't be able to name you a single stage Coppi won, or Bartali, or Fignon, or Hinault, or Gimondi, or even Merckx. I know their names, I know roughly which big races they won, I know they were good cyclists. That is it, though. I doubt many people who started watching a couple years ago know much more than I do. I also doubt that will be any different for new fans in 2060. So I don't see why we should care if they know he won 6 or 8 GTs. What matters is what the current fans will remember. At least, that's what matters to me. I couldn't give two ****s what people will think about him when I'm a 70-year old chilling in a retirement home.
I will repeat what I posted yesterday: 6 or 8 GTs, what does it matter, it's still a lot. His GT and stage race wins will earn him a place in history as one of the best stage racers ever. I don't see how those 2 GTs would have made a difference.
LaFlorecita said:Okay, will do thatsad because I generally like your posts but they are just too depressing now.
Edit: you are free to do the same with me of course
Kwibus said:LaFlo, if you end up putting CarolS on ignore then it's time to question yourself.
CarolS is probably the most likeable poster on this forum. She has a fair point, it's an advice from someone with about 60 years of lide experience. Take the advice![]()

Dr. Juice said:That's an over-reaction, think about it. Don't go mad about peanuts.
LaFlorecita said:I'm not mad, I'm just not interested in depressing posts right now. It can be undone by the click of a button, and Carol said she would not mind it, so not sure why you would.
LaFlorecita said:In an interview with El Pais, Alberto has indicated he is focussing on the Giro-Tour double, but the GT triple motivates him a lot and he might still ride la Vuelta.

Miburo said:Nothing new, it's insanely obvious that Contador will ride it when he wins giro and tour.
And then he retires![]()

LaFlorecita said:It would be sad but epicreally, if he wins the triple..... there would be nothing left to ride for. Though I'd like to see him try for a LBL, and Dauphiné or TDS... but I doubt Alberto sees it that way
